Students are encouraged to read in many ways at Nelson.  One way is through the Accelerated Reader Program.  When choosing an AR book to read, students are instructed to verify that the title is on Nelson's AR Test List.  We have Accelerated Reader Test lists at every student computer station in the building.   In addition, we place AR Test Lists at the Sandhill's Branch Library and the Northeast Branch Library.  Please ask for them at the Circulation Desk.

There are thousands of tests produced by the Accelerated Reader company (Advantage Learning), and though we do not own all of them, we work constantly to add tests to our list. 

How does it work?   Students select a book, read the book, and take the test here at Nelson.  It is not possible for a student to take the test at another location and still receive credit for the book at Nelson.
