Steps of CPR

1-check response
1A - If unresponsive - 911 and get AED = Automated Exrternal Defibrillator
2 - Open Airway (head tilt/ chin lift)
3 - Breathing (look listen feel)
3A Rescue breaths = 2 slow breaths
4 - Circulation - check pulse
4A - 15 compressions at a rate of 100 per minute.
5 -
cycle 15 compressions and 2 breaths - after 1 minute check status.

1 - 911
2 - tongue/jaw lift - sweep mouth - check breathing
3-  If no breathing - abdominal thrusts.

AED usage
1 - power on
2 - attach pads to chest
3 - Clear victim and analyse heart rhythm
4 - Clear victim and deliver shock.

after 3 shocks reassess - can perform cpr for 1 minute - if still unresponsive  - defibrillate.  Repeat up to 3 times.

CPR - Infant - 1 breath for 5 compressions.
CPR child -  1 breath for 5 compressions
