| Chapter 1 the beginning | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| A clocked figure rushed trough the dark woods. Dawn was only an hour away and she had to deliver the package before then. The Alliance was destroying the transports to earth in the morning. It was hard for her to let go but there was no other way. The Rebellion was near ruin and the king would not listen to their plea. She rushed to the last transport left open. The legacy of the deliverer would live on. Washin prophecy spoke of the deliverer that would come in the line of kings. She knew if this package didn't reach it's destination the deliverer would never come. She hid behind trees and bushes. She knew someone was following her, a member of the Alliance no doubt. Ever since her father died and her brother took over the throne the Alliance had ruled the plant. That was six years ago at the same time she fell in love with the enemy. At first she didn't want to admit he was evil but when he betrayed her for the Alliance she had no choice. It al seemed so long ago, their life together, their love. He had only pretended to love her to make his father mad. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "I must complete my mission," she thought, "or he'll win, they'll both win and I can't have that." She was a prime example of a Washin, the attitude, pride, mouth, and abilities too bad she wasn't a man then she would have been on the throne. Her mind flashed back to the old days. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Annalin sat waiting for her younger brother Tankin to bring the new royal pain in the ass her father had brought home from God knew where. She sat on her favorite part of the castle wall. The wall curved in and nearly touched the castle to the point where she could sit up there and lean against the castle. Off in the distance she could see Tankin coming and the one behind him. She had already decided to hate him, just like that. Without meeting him or getting to know him. He was a pain already and she knew it. He wasn't worth a single deni spent on him. He was obviously spoiled by the looks of his clothes and the way he carried himself with a "worthier then thou" attitude. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "Anna!" Tankin waved at her, "I found you." He took off running toward the wall with his friend behind him. Tankin propelled himself up on the wall but his friend stopped. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "Tank you're gonna kill yourself one day," Annalin scolded, shaking her head. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "Oh Anna I can make that jump with my eyes closed," Tankin laughed. His friend just stood there by their feet waiting for an introduction. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "So how was your trip to Pontronsei?" Annalin asked. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "God it was so boring. Dad keeps making me go to those peace talks. I just don't get it," Tankin sighed, " you'd be so much better then me at ruling." | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "Dad chose you end of story," Annalin said firmly, "now who did he bring home this time?" | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "Oh that's right Anna this is Dayba, Dayba my sister Annalin,'"Tankin introduced. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "When your father told of your beauty I had no idea you were this beautiful," Dayba spoke boldly. Annalin rolled her eyes. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "Oh Anna give him a chance," Tankin whispered. She shot him a glare and he shut up. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "Well look at the time. I'm off to training," Annalin smiled at them, "by Tank see you in five." She jumped off the wall and ran toward the training room. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|  "I don't think she likes me," Dayba sighed. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "Naw, just give her some time. Anna just doesn't like being forced into things," Tankin told him. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| She could remember everything about Dayba but the clearest thing ever was when she fell in love with him. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| It was an average day for Annalin filled with studying and training. She was headed to her last session for the day. She used to love training but ever since Dayba had been there training was less than enjoyable. Everyday he challenged her. She had to admit that since they had been training her speed and dexterity has severely increased. She threw open the door and walked in. She was ready to knock them dead. She was simply stunning today with her new training clothes. She stood tall and bold. Her blond hair was up in a braid that reached the tip of her tail. Her tail, a typical Washin tail was a creamy light blue color the same as her skin. Her eyes sparkled green just like her brother's eyes but lighter. Annalin looked around to see Tankin and Dayba in the corner sparing and her trainer, Mankin, talking on his calm link. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "Ah um, can we get started now, I have an appointment with Zibin I can't miss." Annalin walked over to her mat and started starching. Mankin shut his link then yelled for attention. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "Ok well I've been monitoring your progress and I think Tankin is ready to spar with me," these words angered Annalin for she knew that she would then have to spar with Dayba again. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "No! You can't do that to me," Annalin yelled. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "Lin-Annalin," his voice was firm except for his slip, "you and Dayba will do well to learn from each other." Tankin went to Mankin's mat and to sparing form. Annalin rolled her eyes as Dayba walked over to her mat. She grinned evilly and prepared for an attack. Dayba was the first to attack but Annalin successfully countered. There was a left then a right and a kick and an uppercut and then some more punching from both of them. The time passed for their lession but they kept sparing. Mankin had left and Tankin was called way long ago. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "What happen to that appointment with Zibin," Dayba smirked. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "He'll understand, because I always put up a good fight," she answered almost seductively. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "Oh really and what kind of fights would those be," he egged her on. He held her in a submission hold, their faces; lips only centimeters way form each other. He was breathing heavily and she could feel his breath on her face. Sweat dripping from his forehead onto her chin. Looking into his eyes she could see something not evident to her ever before. At that moment she became aware of how close they were to each other. She felt his whole body pressed up against her. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "Annalin," he whispered. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "Yes?" she questioned quietly. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "Do-do you feel it," he asked, "do you feel the for" he was cut off by her lips smashing against his own. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "Im sorry, I'm so sorry," she broke into tears, "I can't believe I was so mean to you and-and I think I love you." | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "Shhh, Annalin it's ok I was the same way to you," he quieted her. They spent he next hour in that room alone. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| She was now hiding in the bushes waiting for the most opportune time to find her carrier. As she crouched there her mind wondered. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "It was so good while it lasted," she thought, "but now it's over for good." They had been together along time yet her father never sent her to live with Dayba. She knew he knew what they did together yet he acted like it never happened. She had some suspicions about Dayba's father and his talk of an Alliance. Annalin attended all peace talks on Xentorinsei and knew his father was up to something. Dayba never let his father tell him what to do so he spent all his time with Annalin meanwhile his father was working on Tankin. Annalin remembered the day Dayba betrayed her. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Annalin sat rocking her son. Dayba had been gone for hours. She had sent him out to get medicine. What's taking him so long? Rankin might be worse by the time he get's back.Just then the door flew open and Zibin rushed in. He had a worried expression on his face. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "Zibie what's wrong," Annalin asked worried now. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "Dayba! He led a surprise attack on the Rebellion. He's working for the Alliance," Zibin cried then collapsed. Annalin ran to his side depositing Rankin in his crib. She helped Zibin onto the couch noticing his wounded side. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "God Zibie who did this to you," Annalin asked worriedly. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "Dayba," he whispered before passing out. Annalin sat in the rocking chair moving back and forth. Zibin had been out for hours and Dayba was still out. She was worried about him. I can't believe it. Why would Dayba turn to the other side? He knows how important the Rebellion is to our freedom. I just hope that everyone's ok Annalin looked up to see Zibin coming to She rushed to his side. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "Zibin oh God are you ok," Annalin asked concerned. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "Oh Anna I'm sorry," Zibin sighed, "Dayba led them into our camp and blasted energy balls at us and he hit me with a psybrick. I ran here, I didn't know where else to go. He'll come back and play that it never happened but I have the mark." | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "What mark," Annalin asked. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "This one," Zibin lifted up his torn shirt to reveal a red mark as if a brick had hit him. Annalin gasped at the sight. She had seen it only once before. Tankin had been messing around with Dayba and got hit by an attack. She had to have her Jadon friend, Baylynn, come from earth and heal him. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "Oh Zibie I should have listened to you before," Annalin broke down and started crying, "you told me he was on their side but I couldn't believe you but I know he never misses a mark. That blast was meant to hit you. Had you been any other person you'd be dead!" Just then Dayba burst into the house. His clothes were ripped and he was bleeding. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "Zibin I told you not to come here," Dayba yelled, "get away form my family!" | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "No you monster get out," Annalin yelled | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "But Anna," Dayba's voice turned soft. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "Don't but me. You tried to kill my best friend and take out the Rebellion," Annalin yelled some more, "you are a great actor Dayba but I can see through you now so leave me and my son alone." | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "Your son, your son," Dayba ranted, "he's my haire? You couldn't even get on the throne." He rushed the crib and picked up Rankin. Dayba was out the door before Annalin could do any thing. The last thing she heard was Dayba yelling, "If you ever tell anyone about tonight you?ll both die." | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| A single tear fell down her face in remembrance of losing her son. He was from then on referred to as Orphen. After that night she moved in with Mankin out in the woods for protection from the Alliance. She now stood in line for the transport like the many others who wanted to go to earth. She thought she saw a castle guard a few people back. That reminded her of the first day she had lived since Dayba. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Annalin looked around the woods hopping, praying that no one was following her. She was heading out to see Mankin but everyone thought she was with Zibin. All Annalin could think about for the past week was Mankin. She had been so close to killing herself after Dayba's betrayal until Mankin helped her. She had thrown all of her attention into training and she chose him to be her teacher. They spent days together doing nothing but sparing. Now that Tankin had been on the throne for a few years he stopped listening to her guidance so she left the palace. She had spent the last two years working with the Rebellion and falling in love with Mankin but he brother would never approve. He was the reason for her secrets; he would kill Mankin if he found out. She was now outside his woodland home. She opened the door and walked in. Mankin sat in his chair reading a book.She stood by the door unnoticed just taking everything in. She stared at him and was hypnotized by his handsome figure. His dark blue skin and obsidian black hair seemed to scream to her for attention. His soft gray eyes darted from line to line in his book. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "Manko," she said softly. He slammed his book shut and in one motion was up on his feet. He grabbed her arm and twirled her around. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "My Linalin," he smiled using his old nickname for her, "you're getting better at that cat like behavior of yours. It seems Baylynn has rubbed off on you again. So how was earth this time?" | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "It was great. I love seeing Baylynn," Annalin smiled, "she's finally gonna marry and we're invited. You can finally go to earth and you'll see why I love it so much." Mankin was glad Annalin had made friends on earth; she needed something besides him, Zibin, and the Rebellion. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "I can't wait to go," he smiled, "come sit and I'll make you some Red-Eyed Lank." Red-eyed Lank was a warm drink that contained red wine and lank, a very alcoholic drink. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "Thanks," she sat in his chair, " what book are you reading?" | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "It's a human classic, Romeo And Juliet, "he told her, "I loved it. The story is kinda like us in that we can't be together but we are." | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "Well Manko I heard the characters kill themselves in the end. At least that's what Baylynn told me," she said knowingly. He handed her a cup and pulled up a stool near her. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "What's the news from the castle," Mankin asked. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "Tank wants me to forgive Dayba and pledge my life to him," Annalin sighed, "but I can't. He lied to me and then took Orphen. And to make things worse he walks around as if nothing happened. It's hard to live without him. He?' only two. Dayba is gonna make him hate the Rebellion and I can't do anything about it." | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "One day Linalin, you'll be able to make him see what's right. The deliverer will come," he tried. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "Thanks," she smiled, "now I need sleep." She headed to his bedroom disregarding her clothes anywhere. She took one last look over her shoulder then disappeared into his room. She was in his bedroom naked, waiting for him. He picked up her clothes and brought them into the room. She was sitting up under the covers watching Mankin as he put her clothes on his table. He turned to look at her. Her blond hair was in a braid and her green eyes pleaded with him She had used the Washin trait of phasing to become half washin half human. He phased too and crawled into bed with her. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The line moved slowly and the sun was coming up. She finally was at the front. Looking around she saw the refugees, families who would never make it to earth. None of the people before her had gone to earth. The army took them and sent them to jail. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "What do you need," a mean attendant said. She sifted the package and reached in her pocket to take out a sign. The attendant nodded and moved her into the tent. There she was pushed into a line for packages. Someone walked beside her and pulled her out of the line. She was lead to the back of the mess. There the person took her sign and slid it in the package. They nodded and Annalin left the package. The new carrier stepped into the transport and went to earth. Just before he disappeared Annalin's piercing scream filled the air and the transport was turned off forever. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| On earth he appeared in a wooded area and hurried deeper into the woods. He was looking for a specific tree. Once he found it he hit a secret button and left the package. As a secret door opened and a young Jadon woman picked up the package curiously and looked around to see who left it but there was no one in sight. She shrugged her shoulder, which caused her angelic wings to rise. When she turned back inside her bladed tail twitched with interest at this new discovery but just before she tore off the paper with her tail a soft cry came from the center. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "Queen Baylynn what are you doing out in the courtyard this late," a guard asked. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "I heard something at the door to our world and came to see who was there but they only left this package," she answered truthfully. The guard inspected the package for traps and pulled off a note. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "Here my Queen. This was on it," the guard handed her the note. She nodded and unfolded the paper. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|  "It's from Anna," she gasped. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "I'll go wake the king," the he said running towards the castle. Once alone she tuned to enter the castle from a different entrance. Inside she headed toward the dinning room with the package. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "What's Anna have to say," the king asked. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "I haven't read it yet San," she told him, "I was just about to. Ok. To Baylynn, Times are hard here and I need your help. This package will insure the coming of the deliverer but Tank wants to destroy it. Please keep it safe until I send a messenger to retrieve it. He will bear my mark just like a piece of this package. Open the package now but be careful. Ok so open it." San took off the cover to reveal a basket with a sleeping baby girl inside. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "This is Xentorin, my daughter. Please do not tell her anything about me or Xentorinsei. Rise here as your own. She can know she's washin but tell her you found her. If she knows when my messenger comes then it will be easier for her to sway to the other side. I know Dayba will send Rankin after her in time and my life is no longer safe here. As you read this all transports to earth have been cut off and Tank is looking for me. Consider me dead and Manko also. That's all she wrote," Baylynn said. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "Well we can treat her as our niece and Jescele's cousin," San suggested. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "Yes," Baylynn agreed, "let's take her to Jescele's room now." | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
