Thomas BEAVER moved to Grosse, Brule County, in Oct 1912 from Phila. I have not
been able to find a town or area named Grosse, SD., however, the pension records
list this as his place of residence. The parents of Thomas BEAVER were Charles
Edward BEAVER, B: abt 1826 in Ireland. He died on 25 Jul 1901 in Phila and was
buried in Monument Cemetery. He and all others buried there were moved to
Lawnview Cemetery, Rockledge PA in 1956. His Mother, Mary Ann SMITH, B: 1821 in
Unk. 25 Jan 1848 in Phila, also
moved to Lawnview. I don't know which members of his family moved to SD, I'm
guessing his daughter Sarah. Thomas had
a sister, Mary Annie BEAVER, B: 1841,1937 that married Owen Martin DAVIS,
he died in 1867.She later married Michael L. KEUSCH. Thomas had at least
two brothers, John BEAVER, B: abt 1844,0: 1882, in Lawnview Cem. Don't have
other brother's name. I would like to locate his place of burial and any other
information pertaining to our family that lived in that area. I am the
great-grand nephew of Thomas through his sister Annie. Thanks, Walter J Davis,

My mother's grandfather was the first territorial marshal.
His name was Azerith AUSTIN. He had a ranch/farm outside Iona He was
there before there was Lyman County. Any information would be helpful. He is
mentioned in the book called Lyman County History, but his history was not gone
into except to comment that they held dances and had harvest dinners at his
place. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I'm not sure of the
spelling of his first name. But he was on the first ballot voting in Lyman.
