The teachers at North Polk Elementary believe that all children can and want to learn. We use developmentally approriate methods to reach each child and guide them to their full potential. In each classroom you will see a variety of methods being used - manipulatives, small groups, learning centers, children making choices, whole group activities, songs, poems, independent reading and guided reading just to name a few. Because we believe that young children learn best through discovery and hands on activities parents will see few workbook pages and worksheets coming home. When children are engaged in learning activities that interest them we see greater retention of knowledge and less discipline problems.
