Currently we have in our breeding program 1 dun Dexter; Joanna of Rhema (a.k.a. Sassy), and 4 black Dexters; Uneweep LaLette, Lazy J5 Kenosha, Lazy J5 Bailey, and our new herdsire, LSR Ta Me Laidir (a.k.a. Baxter). These are all outstanding animals with very sweet, gentle personalities.
For me, the importance of ensuring the continuance of this breed goes beyond their remarkable personalities...it gives me the opportunity to preserve a part of my own family history. My ultimate goal is to produce the type and quality of Dexter (small, horned, and docile) that my great-great grandparents, who immigrated to the U.S. from southern Ireland, knew. I believe that keeping a small, carefully chosen herd will enable me to produce this type of Dexter.
All calves will be vaccinated, de-wormed and ear tattooed. Calves sold as breeding stock will be registered with the ADCA at the time of sale. Veterinary inspection will be done and health certificates issued for calves travelling outside the state of Missouri.
