OUR LIFE IN BULLDOGS
Please read.
It all started back in 1993 when we bought Brindle, our first Bulldog, for $1500.  We knew very little about bulldogs and was very lucky to get a healthy one.  It wasn't long before we were hooked on Bulldogs.

Brindle ended up having eight healthy puppies.  Let me say, IT WAS A LOT OF WORK!!!  A full time job, yet I loved it.

After getting into the books I started getting more and more interested into showing bulldogs.  I soon found, as many people have done, I was going about it the wrong way.  I learned you should show first then breed........ Anyhow, I had gotten the bug.

So, I looked for a show pup.  Not many people would ship a good show pup up here to Alaska.  I ended up getting an older dog, a 15 month female from a very nice man, Terry Cramer, out of New York.  He was looking for a show home for a female.  He got her for show and to breed from
Vikingbulls Kennel, her name was Amber.

When she got here she was not much of a show dog, she looked much better in the pictures.  I then took her to the vet, it turned out she had a very very long soft pallet, which I found was not a good trait to breed.

Two weeks later she came into season.  She ended up getting pyeima.
she is now spayed and living a good life as a pet.

I wish I could have kept her, but as I said, I was looking for a show dog. She was not at our home for that long, but she touched our heart, we still miss her , but we do get to see her now and again.
Terry was nice enough to refund the money we paid for Amber, it is unfortunate Terry did not get reinbursed for the money he paid to get Amber from Vikingbulls Kennel.

Terry had another dog he was looking to place in a show home although it was a male.  I learned to be more causious of the looks of a dog in pictures.  I asked Terry to send me a video.  After viewing the video, though he was a male, he was what I wanted to show.  After negotiatings Terry sent
Marcus via. Delta Airlines using the Delta Dash service.  Sadly Marcus died of heat exhaustion before he got to Salt Lake City.  I believe this was a great lose to the Bulldog world.  Unfortunately I do not have any photos of Marcus to post.  He did however, resemble Wilbur and was from the same blood line and breeder.
After all the things that happen, buying two older dogs, I decided to try my luck at finding a puppy.  In hopes of having better luck I tried to find a male show pup.  I found Qusar.  He is a Handsome bulldog.  One thing I did not know at the time was what a "straight Stifel" was.  If I had, I would have noticed before I bought him and would not have bought ht him as a show and stud.  His show career was  cut short due to the fact he could not stand still for very long.  Also a Straight Stifel is inherited and will skip generations but will always show again in the line.

I placed
Qusar in a nice home as a pet after I had him neutured.  His weight must be watched to avoid having to much weight put on his rear legs.

It is very sad to see a bulldog with so much energy and not be able to use it for very long.  One day he may need surgery.  The cost of this surgery is around $1800 per leg.

I purchased
Qusar from Adoreabull Kennels. The Adoreabull Kennel has reimbursed me $300 and has agreed to help pay for some of the surgery if needed.
