Two rocking chairs on the porch side by side, In a small God loving town, One was a husband..the other his wife, Fifty years they had shared and had found, Many blessings that God had bestowed unto them, And had guided them all through the years, How to love and endure many hardships, Together how to conquer their fears. Troubles had visited them often, But their love prevailed above all, Showing no signs of weakness, Refusing to here satans call. They had stood close beside one another, Not once ever mentioning divorce, Vows they had taken in a small country church, No room had been left for recourse. And as they sat on their porch reminiscing, The twinkle still shone in their eyes, Though the years now showed on their faces, Their devotion could not be denied.
