2004 ... The Fiat is finally on the road again!
After nearly 5 years ... my 1980 Fiat Spider is back.  I took it off the road in 2001 with the intention of only doing a few small things to it before I came back in the spring ... but the "while I'm in there" bug struck again.  It went from a daily driver with stock mechanicals, questionable suspension (to say the least) and beat up interior, to having the following work done to it by me a little at a time when I was home on break:

-New ball joints
-New Tie rods, sleeves and center link
-Progressive rate springs
-Koni Yellow shocks
-Big front sway bar and rear sway bar
-all new bushings
-All new hard and soft brake lines
-rebuilt all the calipers
-new brake proportioning valve
-New pads, rotors, and e-brake cable
-Set of 5 "speedline" rims (13 x 5.5) with
  205 60 HR 13 tires
-Removed front and rear bumpers
-made new front turn signal brackets
-went through engine with new seals, rings, gaskets,   etc.
-All new ignition parts
-All new hoses (coolant & fuel)
-Removed air pump, other emissions things to clean up engine compartment
-New intake manifold and pair of Weber 40 IDF carbs
-Installed 4-2-1 exhaust setup from my 69 parts car
-ANSA exhaust
-New T-stat, engine senders
-New black convertable top
-New Momo seats & harness
-New black carpets
-Installed stock (1981?) steering wheel
-new 'Abarth' scorpion horn button
-wired in coolant fan switch/sender bypass switch to the dash
-New Paint job, 4 coats epoxy primer, 4 coats epoxy single stage (PPG) Ferrari Rosso paint (done by me in a barn!)
-New Dash
-Various new interior bits (shift knob, trim, rear view mirror, etc)
-Shaved side mirror
-filled rear trunk badge
-Roll Bar
