Thug On Da Line listening party

Recently Krayzie Bone hosted a listening party for his upcoming solo album, "Thug On Da Line" which will drop on July 10th of this year.

The party was attended by many industry personalities, as well as fellow Thugline members, and producers DJ U-Neek and Super Sako, who did work for the album.

Super Sako recently posted a recap of the night at Original Ultimate Bone Board (OGUBB.org). He says the general consensus was that the album is a hit. Says Sony Records, "This was the best album I've heard from Bone."

millkbone has also reported that The Source is giving the album 4 mics, with a review forthcoming in the next issue of the magazine.

Krayzie's Movie deal

Thugline Records artist K-Mont recently stopped by the Ultimate Bone Board3K to talk about the upcoming Krayzie Bone/Thugline film projects, as part of Krayzie's 3 picture deal with a yet un-named motion picture company.

The long talked about "Ghetto Cowboy", Krayzie Bone's "black western", is set to begin filming this summer in Arizona. The movie will feature Bone Thugs, Thugline artists, and "major actors".

As mentioned before, Thugline Uncut is also a part of the 3 picture deal. The video documents Thugline in the studio, travelling, and a whole lotta other scenarios. So be on the lookout for that in the upcoming months.

Bizzy Sues Loud Records

Bizzy Bone of Bone Thugs--Harmony is sueing Loud and Sony Records in regards to his second solo album.

Bizzy filed a breach of contract suit in U.S. District Court last Tuesday December 19th for claiming that Loud Records refused to pay him a $1 million advancment for the recording of his second solo album, which forced Bizzy to fund the recording independently. Second, Bizzy claims Loud refused the second solo album all together, in favour of The Collection Volume 2.

From CDNow.com:

The suit reads, in part, "As a direct and proximate result of defendants' breaches, Bizzy has suffered and will continue to suffer damage including, but not limited to: The damage to Bizzy's solo career which results from defendants' failure to manufacture, promote, and distribute [Bizzy's second solo album]; and the related damage to Bizzy's career which results from defendants' election to release The Collection: Volume Two instead of [Bizzy's second solo album], namely the creation and fostering of a public perception that Bizzy no longer creates new, current music. Defendants' wrongful conduct creates the incorrect impression that Bizzy has been relegated to the status of a greatest hits musician and is not currently active."

Layzie Bone give release date for new album

Layzie Bopne recently made an apperance on the Loveline Radio Show, with Mo Thug Felecia and Won G, who has been making appernaces with Layzie recently. On the show, Layzie mentioned that Felecia's solo album is on it's way, and his debut solo album "Thug By Nature" is set to be drop on January 23, 2000.

Romeo Antonio Jips GYS fans

Fans of former Mo Thug members Graveyard Shift who brought their one and only album, "Still Waters" from producer Romeo Antonio are regretting it.

Earlier this year the unreleased album was put up for sale by Romeo Antonio, who produced the album and owns the master recordings to the song. The CD was shipped to the first fans who ordered it, however was shipped in poor quality enveloped, with many people complaining about the quality of the actual CD itself, although the majority of fans were pleased with the music.

Recently, Romeo stopped shipping orders for the CD. A great deal of fans were left down $20 and without a CD. No word yet if the producer plans on refunding the cash.

Many fans are now encoruaging bootlegging and distribution of the CD through recordable CD's.

Layzie Bone adpots new name

- Layzie Bone will assume the alias L-Burna for his debut solo album, Thug By Nature, which is scheduled for a March release. The Bone Thugs-N-Harmony member's nickname, which was given to him by his sister a couple of years ago, comes from his desire to put the heat on his competition.

Layzie Bone told LAUNCH about his choice of album title. "I just feel like I'm a thug by nature," the Cleveland rapper said. "It's just in my nature to be that way. I'm not trying to be a thug. I was born this way. It's what I'm made up to be."

Guests artists on Thug By Nature include WC, Aaron Hall, and Mo Thugs.

BTNHResurrection, Bone's third full-length album, has sold more than 1.2 million copies, according to industry sources.

Krayzie Bone on the line

After a six-year trail of successful albums, Krayzie Bone of Cleveland hip-hop’s pride Bone Thugs-N-Harmony is in the studio recording his second solo album entitled Thug On The Line.

Hookt.com caught up with Krayzie Bone to talk about the new album and his new crew, Thug Line. "The album’s called Thug On The Line because I’m putting everything on the line," Krayzie Bone told Hookt.com while taking a break from the vocal booth. "Thug Mentality explained me as a solo artist but this one shows all my struggles since then."

Thug Line will be featured on the new release, which finds Krayzie breaking away from his Mo Thugs family. "I used to do the Mo Thug but I wasn’t feeling it at the time—I was trying to do my own thing," says Krayzie. "I went and found some more artists and started shopping around until I got a deal with Loud Records."

The Thug Line compilation album is scheduled for a release sometime next year. Also on Krayzie’s plate are plans to release a movie based on the 1998 Mo Thugs single, "Ghetto Cowboy." The "black western," as dubbed by Krayzie Bone, has already been scripted and is set to begin production later this year. "There’s going to be a lot of rappers and black actors on some rootin’ tootin’ type shit," said Krayzie.

Meanwhile, Thug On The Line is scheduled to hit record stores in January 2001.

Flesh-N Bone gets 10 years

Flesh N Bone (real name Stan Howse) has been senteced to 10 years in jail for threatening a friend, Tarrance Vickers, with an AK-47 concealed in a baby's crib in December of last year. The rapper received a 11 year sentence last Friday.

Although the sentence in total is 11 years, Flesh will only be spending 5 years behind bars. Approximately one year of the term has already been served, and the remaining time, according to Howse's manager Gary Ballen, was "10 years at 50 per cent."

Howse's legal team has taken an optimistic view of the sentencing. "My client was very fortunate to have a fair-minded judge and prosecutor. The facts which were presented to the court showed a very talented individual who had a very problem-filled childhood," said lawyer Johnathan Kissell, "Stanley will continue to write music, to interact with people in the music industry, and use his creatively for others' enjoyment. He will be back in society's grasp within five years and will have learned a very valuable lesson in life."

Flesh-N Bone Plead Guilty

Flesh-N-Bone (real name Stan Howse) has plead guilty to felony possession of a dangerous weapon in L.A. Superior Court last Wednesday as part of a plea bargin. The case stems from an incident on January in which L.A.P.D. came across Flesh carrying a loaded sawed-off shotgun and resisting arrest. On October 24 Flesh could face up to three years in jail.

In June, Flesh was arrested for assault with a firearm and being a ex-convict in criminal possession of a firearm.

Flesh-N-Bone's criminal record also includes assault & battery in 1993, and failing to live up to those charges, as well as possession of illegal fireworks July 4, 1997. Flesh served 120 days for that charge.

A couple of years later she released a CD exclusive to overseas, having reached the peak of her success in the United States. A new album titled "Color of Silence" is due out this month. More exclusive newz on Source Awards Incident

Aug 24, 2000, 10:25 pm ET

More conflciting stuff on the Source Awards from DeathRow2K.com, the first article says Bone wasn't involved while the next one just repeats what was said earlier. Most notable was when members of the Outlaws stepped to members of Bad Boy. Harsh words were exchanged and one of the Outlaws spit upon a Bad Boy artist. Boxing promoter Don King stepped in and cooled things off before things got out of hand.

During The Source Awards Mack Minister managed to somehow not only show up-400 miles from home, but he also managed to get in and land a seat with all the artist who were scheduled to perform. In between takes E-40 was talking with some of the cats from Cash Money when Mack Minister made his way down the aisle and started trying to show out. In front of the Outlaws, Cash Money and numerous other crews he started berating E-40 who responded by trying to diffuse things. When he was asked to chill Minster got even more animated and tried to loud talk E-40 even more. What happened next is a bit confusing, as there are all sorts of stories. From where I sat I could see Minister trying to get up in E-40's face and 40 trying to avoid a confrontation. Those who were seated closer said that Mack Minister was clearly in the wrong and had crossed the line when he pushed at E-40 and snatched his chain. As big as E-40 is what was this kid thinking? People who had seen him earlier said Minister may have been high on something due to his erratic behavior Nevertheless, once the chain was snatched Mack Minister caught the beat down of lifetime. Because of Minister's proximity to Cash Money some folks mistakenly thought there was funk between The Click and Cash Money. That was definitely not the case. The two camps were conversing before and after the melee. There was also talk that Bones Thugs and Harmony were also involved due to the fact that they had ripped shirts. Again that was not the case. Mack Minister was eventually taken out by police but not arrested.

While this was going on there's was big commotion going on back stage which prompted officials to terminate the event on the spot. About 15 to 20 guys dressed in red rushed onto the stage and made their way to the back. According to security guards it was cats claiming to be down with Death Row. The intended target was Dre and Snoop who were soon to perform. No one could see what was going down, but apparently it was enough to prompt the Pasadena police to end the event. When the order was given to end the show, this made people get upset even more. An impassioned Doug E Fresh tried to address the crowd. By then things were too far gone. Hip Hop a black mark that will take some time to erase

Mo Thugs family was beatened down pretty badly especially Krayzie Bone also there was another fight which involved The Death Row family. only 3 Awards were completed for the show. More news as I get it.

Exclusive: Layzie Bone, Manager Respond To Source Awards Incident

Aug 23, 2000, 12:25 pm PT

Layzie Bone of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony put a call in to allstar on Wednesday (Aug. 23) to set the record straight about the violence that broke out at The Source Hip-Hop Music Awards 2000 in Pasadena, Calif.

While members of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony exchanged words with other members of the audience before the ruckus began, neither Krayzie or Layzie were hit in the incident, according to Layzie.

"What I seen was a whole bunch of motherfuckers beating a lot of people, but it didn't have nothing to do with Layzie Bone personally," said Layzie. "What I just seen was a lot of stupid niggas and I don't know what the fuck was going on. But I know [none] of my niggas ain't got touched [sic]. I was seeing the show and shit just broke out. But me and my niggas got up out of there untouched. That's all I know. I did see some niggas get swamped on, I just don't know who the niggas was [sic]."

Of course, with no injuries reported and no arrests made, we may never who was actually hit in the scuffle -- Bone Thugs or otherwise. Krayzie Bone, who was actually reported to have been "beaten pretty badly" in the incident, is expected to speak out on the incident shortly.

Despite the melee, which stopped the awards show a little over halfway through, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony are ready to attend if the show is rescheduled. "If they reschedule anything that has anything to do with Bone Thugs-N-Harmony being there, they gonna be there," said Bone-Thugs manager Rod J. "Whether that incident happened [or not], that ain't gonna stop the show, that ain't gonna stop nobody. If they have the Source Awards tomorrow, they gonna be there." -- Kevin Raub
