Quick Like Silver
Quick like silver You drifted through my life. Like smoke, you vanished into the night Without a trace. You slipped through my hands Before I had the chance To grab hold and make you stay. I turned around to find solace in your arms, But like the ever-shifting clouds, With the wind you had blown away. Time was never on our side. I wonder what He was thinking, Taking you so soon. The rain washed all memories of you Down the drain, And with them went my will to live. This silver sorrow is all I have to give. In my dreams I feel your pain, I try to reach you, to bring you back, But my efforts are in vain. For quick like silver, You drifted through my life. The wind carried you away, And the rain swept your memories away, And with this silver sorrow I now must live.
