Fade to Gray
Fade to gray, Kiss the pain away. Sins of the flesh, Her wounds are still fresh. Uncover her eyes, Let her finally see That beneath a person lies In wait for something; An awakening, A reckoning, A lessening of the pain. Forgotten mists Swirl round her soul. Take her, make her yours, But never forsake her. She can't do this anymore. Her heart is on the floor. Fade to gray, Not to black, not to white, But somewhere in the middle, Where the sorrow Is a distant memory Somewhere over the rainbow. Show her today, Show her tomorrow, But never show her yesterday. Make her see herself, Make her see forever Through your eyes. Hold her, mold her, But never scold her. All she needs is love, Not another ungrateful lover.
