Everything Beautiful

Words just arent enough when your heart is aching,
When the blood is flowing from a cut so deep
You cant tell where the knife ends or your heart begins.
You lie down on the floor, in a puddle of pain,
Waiting for the kiss of death upon your lips.

Everything beautiful withers before your eyes;
Roses blacken, the sun turns to stone,
Oceans vanish, the sky drains of blue
Only to fill with a monotonous shade of gray.
The dagger remains forever impaled upon your heart,
A testament to the betrayal of your mind.

Frozen in time, weightless, suspended in your lagoon of pain,
You lapse into silence, awaiting the moment when it all ends;
The paroxysms of your wounded heart,
And the death of everything beautiful, including you.
