They settled in a place called River Hutt, near Wellington N Z. In August
1853 Robert went to Bendigo with his two sons, Andrew and John Robert, in
search of gold without any success. Two years later they where joined by the
rest of the family. They selected land near Axeland VIC and farmed it for many
years. Later, after selling the farm they bought land near Wandonga thirty
miles North of Melbourne VIC. A few years later they moved to Murchison Where
Robert died on 25th Sept 1905
