Friday Boiling Point (3/15)

From Rosemont Horizon in Rosemont, Illinois

The Boiling Point pyros go off and “Set Me Up” by Project 86 begins to play.  “Just As I Am” interrupts the beginning of the show and The Reverend makes his way to the ring.  He, once again, has a hitch in his step and seems to be favoring his ribs.  As he makes his way to the ring, footage from his cage match at Ground Zero versus his rival Bruce Bolt is shown.  It shows The Reverend hitting ‘The Baptism’ off of the top of the cage and then his frog splash onto Bolt for the win.  The Reverend climbs into the ring and is handed a microphone.

Reverend: “This past Sunday in the town of Chicago, I beat Bruce Bolt in a cage match.  You may say, ‘Rev, you knocked some sense into him!  He actually likes you now, that is great!!  You converted him with ‘The Baptism!’  Well, friends you would speak incorrectly.  Oh, yes I did ‘Baptize’ Bolt and he seems to admire me now… both of those statements are true.  Yet, I did not convert Brother Bolt, he is still the same man that he was before, except for one thing… he has a new ally.  Me!!!”

(The crowd goes crazy.)

Reverend: “That is right, Brother Bolt impressed me last night.  He made an eternal impression with his desire and perseverance.  He took me to the limit and I emerged victorious.  However, my victory came with a price.  You see I am the most battered and beaten man in the XHW!  I have been busted open, knocked unconscious, and received more broken bones than anyone in this league and yet I have not missed any time.  I am even on the card for tonight’s show.  I have two cracked ribs and my leg is acting up again, but I am facing the newest member of the XHW… Sewaside!”

(The crowd begins to boo at the concept of having to see the man known as Sewaside.)

Reverend: “Sewaside, I DO feel your pain.  I heard your tale, I listened to your story and I do feel your pain.  I have read your words before, although they were not your words, they are the words of the Old Testament.  The story is of a man named Job and he lost everything just as you have; he lost all of his property, all of his workers, and most importantly all seven of his children in one fell swoop.  Yet this man did not lose his faith in the world, nor its creator.  He did not begin drinking to solve his problems, no, you see Job was a MAN!!  Job rebuked his friends and his wife because they told him to turn away from the path of righteousness.  Job only trusted in his maker, God to deliver him from his sorrow.  Sewaside, tonight I will offer you the opportunity to straighten your path.  Sewaside, tonight I will straighten your path!!!  I will BAPTIZE you Seaside for your own good!!”
