New Child was born in 1976. He grew up in Harlem, New York with his with his mother and four brothers. He started dealing, smoking dope and drinking at a young age. Along with his brother he attended block parties where he was introduced to rap. He soon became a fan of Big Daddy Kane, Chubb Rock, Kool G. Rap, KRS-One, Shabazz and Rakim.

At age 13, New Child started rapping himself. His big brother used to stress him and tell him he sounded wack. His brother would say that he wasn't saying it to be mean, but because if New Child ever had the chance to release an album he wanted people to be able to separate him from other rappers and not say that he looks, rhymes, sounds and talks about the same things others do. He wanted him to be special and this helped New Child.

At age 14, New Child felt he made the two biggest mistakes of his life. The first was getting expelled from high school after he defended and prevented a kid from getting choked. The second occurred the next day, when he followed his friends who stole a car at a parking lot. He received seven charges including auto theft and kidnapping. In 1991, his brother was murdered. He was already drinking, smoking hash and marijuana and selling dope, but now all hell broke loose for him.  New Child started disrespecting his family, he regularly shot at people and got shot at and he went in and out of prison. He basically didn't give a fuck about anybody nor anything. At age 16, he met New York gangster Pee Wee Kirkland who would eventually adopt him. He had been through the same things New Child had and helped him turning his life around.

New Child started taking rapping seriously. He signed with Drop Squad/MCA Records who released his promo featuring the two songs "Get Paid Shorty" and "Nobody Cares," both produced by Ron G. On April 27, 1999, Ruff Ryders Records released the compilation Ryde Or Die Vol. 1 . New Child along with Beanie Sigel, Drag-On, Jadakiss, Inf Red and Mysonne was featured on the song "The Hood." He was interviewed on the TV show Hollowed Ground as a new artist on Ruff Ryders Records whom he almost signed with, but he changed his mind in the last minute and didn't.

One night, New Child dreamt that Tupac Amaru Shakur, who's resting in peace, told him that New Child is the chosen one and to learn from his mistakes, from what he went through, from the bad and good he did in his life. He woke up sweating because it felt so real. He didn't tell anyone about it because he feared they wouldn't believe him.  He talks a bit about the dream in the song "Me and My Dogg."

Three months later, New Child was introduced to Bruce "Fatal" Washington by his high school in Harlem, New York. He had never met anyone outside of his family that he clicked with as well as Fatal. Although their relationship was deeper than rap, Fatal asked New Child to join the Outlawz, not only because he was a good rapper, but also because he had the right mentality and because Tupac who founded the group always wanted one member from New York.

Fatal called Mutah "Napoleon" Beale and told him about New Child. He brought New Child with him to California and introduced him to the rest of the Outlawz. He wanted to take him to Houston, Texas to met J. Prince, owner of Rap-A-Lot Records and eventually sign with them, but he signed with New York-based FELON Entertainment instead.

FELON means family and stands for From Every Level Of Neighborhood. Their roster consists of Aliz, New Child's brother and producer Furious Styles and of course New Child. FELON's debut album will be New Child's S.O.G. (Son Of A Gangster) . It features guest appearances by the Outlawz and others. It's finished, but they're currently looking for someone to distribute it. They've also started the monthly magazine FELON.
