After almost 3 years of waiting, construction on our new hunting cabin is under way.
once the builders got started it didn't take long before it started looking like a cabin.
What is the best way to stop a drought?  Start construction on our cabin that we've been waiting on for years. 6 inches of rain expected this weekend, our lot is a muddy mess.
Finally; the exterior is complete, and the floor is down. Not a moment to soon, hunting season opens Oct.5th.
Check back often to see our progress, the rough plumbing has been done and we are now insured. The next step is doing the wiring. I'm scared of electricity, luckily we have an electrician in the family.
Setbacks so far: We planned on using a wood stove for heat, but the insurance man said NO!!!! Looks like propane heat now. Heavy rain is causing drainage problems, the backhoe man is going to be there on 9-27 02 to take care of that.
The cabin is 24'x 24', we plan on two small bedrooms and a small bathroom, and leaving the rest open as a living / kitchen area. The ceiling is 14' high, and we plan on putting a loft in for extra sleeping space.
