I took the photograph above in St. Marks Square in Venice, Italy in the summer of 1988.  It is an arch above one of the entrances to St. Marks Cathedral.  I have often looked to this picture for inspiration.  It is a reminder to me that even as the mundane aspects of life surround us, there are loftier goals to strive for.  I have tried to convey that same sense of timelessness in my musical efforts.

More about me:
I have a Bachelors degree in Vocal/Choral music from Harding University (class of 1988).  I am fully qualified to teach private voice and direct choirs.  I am also a performed composer.  Although my training is primarily in Classical forms, since graduation I have worked on various projects involving traditional and evolving forms of Celtic Music.   My favorite personal project I call simply my "Hymn Project," which involves taking traditional hymn texts and pairing them with new tunes.  I'm working on uploading samples of this.   I am also a member of the Choir at St. John's United Methodist Church in Lubbock, TX.
