     Hi there.  Welcome to the online home of the Leavitt Area Whiffleball Association.  Thanks for visiting!  If you're here, I'm assuming that you're already quite well acquainted with the wonderful game of whiffleball and our fine organization, so I'll dispense with the details.  What I must mention before I continue with a description of our website is that whiffleball and the L.A.W.A. are entities that highly value honour, both in gameplay and discussion of the game.  Whether it be calling a TOOGOTHPU on your teammate in the bottom of the fifth, or writing a message on this site's guestbook (appropriately located on the gossip page) it is important that we, associates of whiffleball and the L.A.W.A., act in ways that respect truth and humanity.  That's the way Edward J. Whiffle intended it roughly fifty years ago and that's how we play it.  Always remember honour. 
     Now, let me tell you all about the L.A.W.A. website.  As you might have already noticed, we're working with a pretty simplistic program, so don't expect streaming highlights of games or realtime boxscores.  What you can expect, as soon as the Leadership Council finishes building the site (E.T.A., mid-January, 2004), is a wide variety of organizational and informational pages (Free Agent Forum, Scores, Standings, Rules of Honour, etc.), tons of news and rumors (front page, The Whiffle Winds, guestbook, Message Board of Honour), fantastic special features ("A Look Back at 2003"), and some good ol' fashioned tomfoolery (Contests, Links, and Things of Honour).  Whoever said honour can't be fun?  Stupid jerks, that's who.  Stupid jerks.      
     Over the past month, L.A.W.A.<online> has become the nexus of all things L.A.W.A.  I hope that the L.A.W.A. community continues to utilize and enjoy what it has to offer during these long, cold months of whiffle waiting.  Let it be your beacon in the night, your ghost of whiffle past, reminding you of just how wonderful whiffle is, has been, and will forever be.  We of the Leadership Council encourage teams, players, and fans alike to continue to build their own pages and develop the L.A.W.A. online community.  Add to whiffle's greatness!
