UNICEF extends aid for 180,000 children in Maluku
AMBON, Maluku (Antara): The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) is providing
assistance for 180,000 children and 70,000 women in the districts of Buru and Maluku
Tenggara Barat in the eastern Indonesian province of Maluku.
"The aid is for the education and health sectors," the head of UNICEF's representative
office here, Frans Petutschnig, said on Thursday.
The assistance covers among other things basic education for all children and
children's physical growth, he said.
UNICEF has been operating here since 1998.
