Cline Dion is currently the celebrity patron of
the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.  Her
commitment to finding the cure to this disease is
marked by real life tragedy: Clines niece, Karine,
who had cystic fibrosis died, in her aunts presence
Karine was only 16 years old.

In 1982 she accepted the title of "Marraine" of the
Quebec Cystic Fibrosis Association.  Since then, the
strides she has taken to push CF awareness is
unbelievable.

Highlights of Cline's volunteer support to the CF cause over the years: (1997-present)

1997
Cline very generously donates her appearance fees from a New York City concert, and from her guest appearance on the television show, The Nanny, to the Foundation's SPARX program.

1998
In April 1998, Cline receives the title of 'Officer of the Order of Quebec'. One month later, she receives the title of 'Officer of the Order of Canada'.

In September, Cline performs a benefit concert in Toronto, raising almost $1 million for CF research.

She appears on the 100th episode of the television program Touched by an Angel. Her appearance fee for this episode is donated to the Foundation.

1999

Cline agrees to wear a pair of diamond-studded Ray-Ban sunglasses to the Academy Awards, in exchange for a contribution to the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

On December 31, Cline performs a benefit concert in Montreal for several causes, including cystic fibrosis. It is her last concert before her sabbatical leave from the professional scene.

2000 - 2001
Cline and her manager and husband, Ren, take a leave from their professional duties. However, they remain strong supporters of the CF cause, and continue to represent a constant source of hope and inspiration for all individuals and families affected by cystic fibrosis.

2001-2002
In 2001, the "Cline Rose" is introduced with one dollar from the sale of each rose bush coming to the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The rose was sold in Quebec nurseries and garden centres in 2001. Distribution has expanded internationally in 2002.

2002
Cline returns to public life. A portion of a significant donation made by Cline and Ren to the Foundation in 2000 is steered towards the Special Research Initiative in Memory of Michael OReilly.

2003-2004
Cline and Ren Anglil continue their significant support for the Foundations work. The couple designate the Breathe (Basic Research and Therapy) program for the remaining portion of a gift made in 2000, and pledge further support for this important initiative that will target the basic defect in cystic fibrosis through the development of novel therapeutic approaches.

Cline generously donates tickets to her Las Vegas show

Montral, December 18, 2003 Cline Dion and Ren Anglil, the spokespersons for the Growing Up Healthy campaign held by the Sainte-Justine Hospital Foundation, launched today the public thrust of the campaign launched in December 2002 that, so far, has targeted mainly the private sector. Together, they are calling upon the generosity of the public in order to raise the funds necessary for this project to ensure the future of Hpital Sainte-Justine, which helps children, teenagers and mothers from all over Qubec. This project represents an investment of $400 million, of which $100 million will be raised in the community. At this event, the co-chairs of the campaign, L. Jacques Mnard, O.C., Chairman of BMO Nesbitt Burns, and Claude Brien Coutu, presented a positive report on the progress at the mid-point of the campaign: $76 million of the $100 million of the objective has already been raised, essentially through contributions from the private sector and the loyal donors to the Foundation.
