My Dad
In actual
height, my father wasn't very tall
But he was to
me, especially when I was small.
He looked like
he was a giant of a man
With his coal
black hair and his farmer's tan.
He'd hold my
hand to cross the street
He'd wash my
hands or rub my feet.
And he'd make
me feel like a special child
With his voice
so soft and his manner mild.
He worked very
hard on my grandpa's farm
He was always
there to keep me from harm.
He taught me
things to help me be smart.
He showed me
the way to have a giving heart.
In teaching me,
he did the very best he could,
To show me the
difference between bad and good.
The man I loved
most before any other
Was the man who
was married to my mother.
If I am a
person you are glad to have met
Then it's
because of the man I will never forget.
He molded me to
be the best I can.
And I owe it
all to that wonderful man ......
