When Winter Comes
Here in the north it's starting to snow.
The earth glistens and the cold winds blow.
The trees are bare with an icy sheen
What a beautiful sight on the evergreen.
I love the beauty that Nature has wrought
But I don't like the feeling that the cold has brought.
I feel the crunch that's beneath my feet
As I walk on the snow with it's coat of sleet.
I look up above at the wintry sky
The stars look down and they catch my eye.
I feel so blessed to live where I belong
But the bitter cold lasts far too long.
I need someone to keep me warm when winter comes this way
Until that time I'll just be content to stay indoors and play
So maybe someday soon I'll move to where the warm breezes beckon
And live in the land where the air is fine and the "natives" say," I reckon"
