In the  springtime in  Texas the  wild flowers grow

By roadsides so  lovely that it makes my heart glow

There's buttercups and paintbrush and flowers galore

There's yellow and pink and oh, so much more.

But the most  wonderful sight that I ever did see

Was fields full of blue bonnets waiting for me.

 

I've always loved Texas, it's flowers and such

But I never knew I  could love it this much

It's hard to express my feelings inside.

But I know why Texans are so full of pride.

 

In parts of  Texas  all the  blue bonnets grow free

Along side of Indian paintbrush that for  miles we can see

No picture can show the true beauty they bestow

You must see them in person if  you really want to  know

How lovely they are and how vast they have spread.

God's beautiful blanket to cover His bed.

 

He placed it  down on Texas ground

The prettiest sight to  ever be found

Now a piece of Heaven is here on  Earth

In a place called Texas and it shows it's worth.
