| Closer Than Brothers |
| Bo woke up feeling good, refreshed, ready to face the day. It took him a minute to realize how odd that was, at least lately. He hadn't slept this well in over a week. He glanced across the room to see Luke still asleep, as he realized why he'd finally gotten a good night's sleep. Luke knew. Knew his deepest, darkest secret. And still accepted him, still loved him. It had been nothing short of a miracle.
As he gazed at his sleeping cousin, Bo felt the deepest love he'd ever felt for anybody in all his life. And there, underneath, the bit of it he wished wasn't there. The faint stirrings of desire. But somehow today it was bearable. Was it because Luke knew? Or because somewhere inside, he'd started to accept himself? A knock at the door startled him out of his reverie. "Come on, boys, up and at 'em." Luke groaned and stretched, glancing across the room, smiling at his cousin. "Mornin', Bo." That smile stifled the fear that had threatened to knot Bo's stomach all over again. Everything was still all right. Bo smiled back, kind of shyly. "Luke." Luke had decided last night that more than anything he had to prove to Bo that he wasn't afraid of him now that he'd admitted his desire for Luke. Time to put that to the test. Luke threw the covers off and climbed out of bed as he'd done every morning as long as they'd shared this room. One of the 'joys' of working a farm was that the animals wanted their breakfasts too, even on weekends. So they were up with the sun to take care of that; they'd come in and shower and dress for the rest of the day later. Luke dressed in front of Bo as he always had; part of him was sure he could feel his cousin's eyes watching his every move. He willed himself not to think about it. For his part, Bo really tried not to watch Luke get dressed. In fact, he got up himself and focused his attention on his own clothes. There was one slightly awkward moment when they bumped into each other because they refused to look at each other. Then Luke realized how ridiculous this was, and started laughing. Bo looked at him for a moment, then he too 'got it' and joined in the laughter. That set the tone for the rest of the day. For the first time since their encounter with the city slicker with a flat tire, life felt 'normal.' Bo was back to his usual gregarious self. At least mostly. For the next couple of days, he really tried to not think about Luke 'that way.' And Luke really made him feel that he wasn't worried about it. And then one day they were working back in the barn, and it was just too damned hot. Without thinking, Luke peeled off his shirt. Bo's eyes were suddenly glued to his cousin's broad back. // God, he's beautiful // the thought entered Bo's brain without permission. With a huge effort, Bo tore his gaze away and focused back on his own work. But he couldn't help sneaking glances over at Luke. At one point, Luke realized Bo was watching him. Knowing what he knew, it should have bothered him. But Luke was surprised to find out it didn't bother him at all. In fact, he kind of liked it. He knew he was good looking; and he was cocky enough to enjoy flaunting it. He'd often played on it when working in town where pretty girls would notice him as they walked past. The fact that Bo liked to watch too just proved that his cousin had good taste in men. Lying in bed that night, Luke thought about it some more. It really didn't bother him in the slightest to know that Bo had been looking at him. After all, he had been the one who started it all those years ago. And then there had been Greg. Luke's mind went back to the question he'd never really answered in the service did HE like men? Greg had insisted that he wasn't necessarily gay just because of their one liaison. "Any port in a storm," that what he'd said. Some men weren't limited either way. He certainly liked girls, there was no question of that. But he had certainly liked what he and Greg did, too. And, he had to admit it, what he and Bo had done as kids. And now. If he was truthful with himself, he liked the fact that Bo was watching him. It suddenly occurred to him that he was the only other person who had ever given Bo true sexual pleasure. That made him feel sad for Bo, that he'd been so alone for so long, but it also made him feel kind of good that he had done what nobody else had. He rolled over onto his side, looking across the room at Bo, sleeping peacefully in the other bed. It warmed his heart that he'd been able to ease his hurt last night. Bo meant more to him than anybody else in the world. They had been raised as brothers, both lost their parents when they were very young. And yet they'd been somehow more than just brothers; they had avoided most of the sibling rivalries. Right from the first they'd been best friends as well, and that had added a dimension to their relationship that made it different. Special. Moonlight was streaming in through the window, turning Bo's blond hair silver. He looked so young, so innocent in sleep. // God, he's beautiful! // The thought came out of nowhere. And with it came the first rush of desire. It was as if knowing Bo wanted him was enough to break down the walls he'd unconsciously built to keep himself from wanting Bo. He loved his younger cousin more than he'd ever loved anybody. Certainly more than he'd ever loved any girl. Fooling around with Annabelle was fun, but he'd known that there was something missing, that something that made it 'serious.' He suddenly realized why. She wasn't the one he really wanted. None of them were. But he had set Bo as 'off limits' so he chased after girls in a futile effort to fill the void. The realization hit him hard. This could be dangerous. It was bad enough for Bo to be gay in a small town like this. But for the two of them to get involved, well, it was a big risk. If Boss Hogg or Roscoe found out, they'd undoubtedly use it against them at some point. And there was no telling how Uncle Jesse would react. Bo was right he'd been plenty upset when he'd caught the boys all those years ago. But his family creed was 'live and let live.' Which would win out? But then the fact that they were already so close and everybody knew it meant it wouldn't necessarily be so obvious. And hell, they already shared a bedroom! Luke glanced over at Bo again and realized how his cousin must have felt last week. Sharing the bedroom, being so close, wanting to touch and not being able to. It must still be driving him nuts, but at least now he was sleeping better so he wasn't up all night fighting it. Although it was beginning to look like it was Luke's turn for a sleepless night. He watched, enraptured, as Bo rolled over in his sleep, pushing aside even the threadbare sheet in the summer heat. Luke remembered their nights of 'experimentation.' Bo had been so young then, thinking back on it Luke was kind of surprised he'd responded. But now, he'd grown into a fine, strong man, with a gorgeous body. And apparently he was dreaming; his boxer shorts were tented up. The sight sent a thrill through Luke's body, and his own shorts soon mirrored Bo's. He slid his right hand inside and began stroking himself slowly, savoring the sight before him. He watched as Bo's dream became more and more intense, his body twitching in partial mimic of what he was doing in the dream. Soft grunts of pleasure came from his throat. And then, softly, "Luke!" as his body tensed for its climax. It wasn't quite enough to bring him to completion in the real world, sparing him the embarrassment of waking up from a wet dream. But it was more than enough to send Luke over the edge, knowing that Bo was dreaming of him. It was all he could do to stifle his cry of release when it came. When it was over, he lay there, breathing heavily. There was no longer any doubt in his mind. This was meant to be. But he'd have to be careful; Bo was especially vulnerable right now. He didn't want to hurt the man he loved. He'd have to take it slowly, and watch for a chance when they could be alone for a good long while. This would require some talking AND hopefully some private time afterwards He waited until he could hear Bo snoring again, once again deeply asleep, before getting up and quietly changing to a clean pair of shorts. When he laid down again, a feeling of peace settled over him; he knew he'd find an answer for Bo, and he'd found it. Sleep wasn't so hard to find after all. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ When Bo woke up the next morning, he vaguely remembered dreaming of Luke. He felt kind of guilty; Luke had trusted him to not let this come between them, but he didn't seem to be able to do that. Seeing Luke out in the barn yesterday had been too much for his subconscious to ignore. He began to doubt that this was gonna work after all. That afternoon they were back working in the barn, and Bo groaned inwardly when Luke did it again. He knew his cousin was just doing what he would have done before he knew. He didn't want Bo thinking he was changing because he was scared of Bo. But damn it, it DID things to him, things he'd learned the hard way weren't right. Why was his body so darned insistent about this? But try as he might, he just couldn't keep himself from looking. The flex of those strong shoulders as Luke worked was hypnotic. Guilt or no, Bo watched. And at one point, Luke turned around unexpectedly, and looked him right in the eyes. He had to know Bo was watching him. Bo expected Luke to be angry, but instead his cousin just grinned and winked at him. And Bo swore after that he went out of his way to show off his fine body, like he sometimes did if there was a girl watching. A little while later, Bo gave into the heat himself and sent his shirt after Luke's. And shortly after that, he looked up to find Luke watching HIM! Bo was confused, but Luke's grin reassured him that everything was ok. He went back to work wondering just what was going on in his cousin's mind. And yet, although they were alone in the barn, the fact that Uncle Jesse might come in at any minute kept them from talking about it. Of course, he didn't, and by the end of the day both of them were hot, tired, and wired tight. The sexual tension in that barn was so thick you could have cut it with a knife. Bo was confused. Luke liked girls; how could this be happening? But he was pretty sure of what he was feeling from Luke. What was going on here? That night at dinner, Daisy gave them the good news. Cousin Elizabeth down in Capitol City had had her baby. It was a real sad situation; her husband had just been killed in a car wreck a few months before; the baby was all she had left of him. And now she had to raise it alone. Jesse and Daisy were going down there to help her for a while. Bo and Luke would stay behind, taking care of the farm and making sure Boss didn't pull any dirty tricks while Jesse was away. Luke's heart soared. This was just the chance he and Bo needed to figure this thing out. Jesse and Daisy would be gone a good week or two at least. It was better than he'd dared hope for. So after dinner, the travelers packed and headed out in Jesse's old pickup. Bo and Luke waved them goodbye, then headed up to the back porch. Bo sat down on the top step as usual, while Luke disappeared back inside. He came out a few minutes later carrying a couple of cold beers, sat down beside Bo, and handed him one. Bo took it and took a good long drink. The cold liquid felt good going down his throat. Especially compared to the heat, both from the summer night, and from having Luke sitting right next to him. He felt nervous and he wasn't quite sure why. When Luke didn't say anything, he finally had to ask. "Luke? What's goin' on?" Luke sipped his beer and tried to figure out how to start. "I been doin' a lot of thinkin', Bo, since the last time we talked. Thinkin' about what's important to me. What I want from life. And I realized something." He paused, taking another sip of beer to moisten his suddenly dry mouth, then turned to look right into Bo's eyes. "I love you, Bo. More than anything or anyone. I said the other night that we'd always been closer than brothers. I think I finally figured out why." Luke put the bottle down and reached out to gently touch Bo's face. His fingers shook as they brushed over Bo's cheek, slowly followed by his thumb. Bo looked at him as if he wasn't sure this was really Luke. This was impossible, it couldn't be happening. It was what he wanted more than anything else in the world, and what he was most afraid of. It was wrong, but it felt so right. "Luke? I thought I thought you liked girls?" Luke smiled softly. "I do. I guess I'm not like you in that regard, Bo. But the thing I never told anyone, even you, was that I like guys too. Not so much, usually. But there was one guy, when I was in the service. He was like you. Come to think of it, he even looked like you. We got kinda drunk one night and he told me, and I told him what we had done, and well, you know, one thing led to another " Bo's eyes were wide as he listened to Luke's story. "Afterwards, we talked. He said some men could go both ways. Most like that would choose women because it was easier. And that's what I did, Bo. It was easier. But it never really made me happy. Something was always missing." Luke looked away, taking another sip of his beer. "Yesterday, in the barn. I knew you were watching me, Bo. I thought I'd be angry, but I wasn't. I actually liked it. And last night I realized just how much I love you, and that that was why none of those girls ever really satisfied me. And then " Luke's voice trailed off. He felt a bit guilty about watching Bo in his sleep. "Then what, Luke?" Bo's face was contorted with concern. Luke took a deep breath. "I couldn't sleep last night. I rolled over and was watchin' you in the moonlight. You were havin' a dream, Bo. A real serious one. I could see how excited you were, and it turned me on something fierce. And when you called out my name right at the moment, I came with you, Bo." Luke forced himself to look at Bo, who was wide-eyed with shock. "You you watched me?" Luke nodded guiltily. "I'm sorry, Bo, I just couldn't help it " Bo knew exactly how he felt. Compassion for his cousin overrode everything else at the moment, and he reached out and laid his hand over Luke's arm. "It's ok, Luke. I understand. Believe me, I understand!" Luke looked up at Bo's touch and their eyes met. Bo finally realized that what Luke was telling him was real. He was leaning in before he even realized what he was doing and then Luke's lips pressed softly against his. Just a moment, then the connection was broken. Both of them were shaking as Luke's hand came up to again caress Bo's face and they looked at each other as if for the first time. Bo's body was screaming 'yes!' but something still held him back. He finally got the words to come out. "But Luke, this is wrong. You remember what happened last time!" "We was kids then, Bo, we didn't know what were doing. But you know, I think even back then some part of us knew we belonged together. But what's wrong for a kid ain't always wrong for grown-ups. You know what Uncle Jesse always taught us people's got a right to live however's right for them. I know some people don't think men bein' together is right, some say it ain't the way God intended. But the way I figure it, God made us the way we are, and if he didn't intend us to be this way, he made a big mistake. And God don't make mistakes. The bible tells us to love one another, Bo. Any kind of love has got to be better than hate. Don't hate yourself for what you are, Bo. Focus on the love instead." The love shining clearly from Luke's eyes was more than enough to convince Bo. He nodded and let Luke pull him into another kiss. This time he met his cousin with his lips open, letting him in. Luke's arms wrapped around him, holding him close as they kissed. This was it, this was what he'd been longing for all these years. That something special that had been missing when he kissed Aimee wasn't missing now. His body thrilled to the feel of Luke's strong arms around him, the softness of Luke's lips against his. His own arms snaked around Luke's body, touching as he'd longed to touch. It was a rush like nothing he'd ever imagined. Again and again they kissed, sometimes deeply, other times gently, but always coming back together for more. Luke's hand had woven into his thick blond hair, holding him close. It was purest heaven. After a while they backed off, needing to catch their breaths. Sunset had crept up while they were preoccupied; the sky was painted an amazing rainbow of pinks, purples, and golds. "Hey Bo," Luke's voice came quietly. "Why don't you sit in front of me?" Bo quickly figured out what Luke wanted. He slid down to the second step, moving in front of Luke's spread legs. He was just low enough that Luke could still see the beautiful sunset over his head, but now Luke's arms and legs were wrapped around him from behind, holding him close. And he could feel Luke's arousal pressing into his back. It was like a dream come true. They sat like that until the sky faded to twilight, Luke's hands gently slipping inside his shirt, his chin resting on Bo's shoulder. As the sky darkened, Luke's hands moved lower, zeroing in on the tight bulge in Bo's jeans. Luke smiled at the long, low moan Bo let out at his touch. Even through the denim, Bo's dick felt good in his hands, and he felt his own throb in answer. Bo was already breathing heavily as Luke rubbed him. And then warm lips fastened on to his neck as long-fingered hands pried open his pants. The twin assault almost made him dizzy with passion. And then Luke's hands were on him, just as he rememberd, stroking him, sending the most exquisite pleasure through his body. But this time Luke's mouth was working at his neck, kissing and sucking and even biting softly. Bo felt the pressure building and building, he tried to hold back, to make it last longer but he just couldn't. "Luke!" He cried out as the explosion took him, his entire body shaking with the power of it. Luke's arms held him tight as he came, pouring out wave after wave of cream, then still as he trembled with the aftereffects. He lay back against Luke's strong chest, gasping for breath, feeling complete in a way he'd never felt before. Luke's hands gently stroked his arms, his chest, his face. A gentle kiss found his forehead. "That was beautiful," Luke said with a smile. "I could really get hooked on watching you like that." Bo found himself blushing, glad of the darkness that now surrounded them. "I could get hooked on feeling like that!" Luke chuckled softly and hugged Bo. "Plan on it, love. And that's just the beginning; Greg taught me a few things back then. Trust me, it gets better." Bo had a hard time imagining something better than this; a warm summer evening alone with Luke's hands on him. "If you say so " "I say so. Now why don't you go in and get cleaned up. I'll get the bedroom ready." Bo wondered exactly what Luke meant by that. He really didn't want to move, but decided that the sticky mess on his belly probably wasn't all that attractive. "Oh, all right," he sighed as he reluctantly stood up, then pulled Luke to his feet. Luke leaned in to kiss him, being careful not to pull his lower body too close. "Now go on," he said as he let go. Bo did as he was told, intentionally taking his time in the bathroom to give Luke a chance to do whatever he was doing. He wondered if he should re-button his shirt, then decided he was bein' silly and tossed the shirt and the rest of his clothes into the laundry hamper. It felt strange walking down the hallway buck naked, but strangely exhilarating. Luke had dug out a couple of the emergency candles they kept on hand for when storms knocked the power out and lit them. By the candlelight, Bo could see that he'd pushed their twin beds together to make one big bed. Luke was laying on it, also naked, his dick at full attention. "Wow!" Bo sighed softly as he took in the scene. Luke smiled at him. "Join me?" It was an offer Bo couldn't refuse. Almost shyly, he crawled onto the bed, laying beside Luke, his eyes drinking in the longed-for sight of his cousin's body. One hand tentatively reached out, slowly sliding over the length of Luke's arm. At the end he was surprised when Luke's hand caught his, lifting it to his lips for a gentle kiss. Luke looked into his eyes. "I know you've wanted this, Bo. It's real. I'm all yours." Overwhelmed, Bo simply closed his eyes and leaned in for a kiss. Their bodies were so close together, he just reached out and Luke was there. Once again, they spent what felt like an eternity just exploring the taste and now touch of each other. Their bodies inched closer and closer as first arms then legs intertwined. Bo knew it was his turn, and he was eager to feel Luke's dick in his hand. As they kissed, he rolled them over so that he was mostly on top, with Luke on his back. Luke smiled with anticipation as Bo's fingers trailed down his chest, over his stomach, and finally to his straining cock. It felt good in his hand, the soft velvety skin sliding over the hardness beneath. And it felt even better to see Luke's eyes roll up with pleasure as he stroked it. "Ah, yeah, Bo, that's good, that's so good!" Luke sighed happily as Bo's hands caressed him. Encouraged, Bo continued, leaning over to kiss Luke while his hands kept working. Touching Luke like this, kissing him, was getting Bo hard again already. Luke could feel it poking into his side. It gave him an idea, and he reached out, grabbing Bo, and rolled them over so now he was on to. Bo looked up at him, startled at the sudden reversal, but the gleam in Luke's eyes satisfied him that he hadn't done anything wrong. Luke repositioned so that he was straddling Bo's hips. As he lay forward to kiss Bo, their dicks were trapped together between their bodies. As they kissed, their bodies moved together, making them both feel wonderful. But after a little while, Luke realized he was much too close; Bo being on round 2 was taking longer to get there. That was ok, it gave him a chance to share something even more special with Bo. He pulled away and began trailing kisses down Bo's neck, to his shoulder, across his chest, stopping to nibble on one tight pink nipple. Bo gasped at the unexpected sensation, drawing a deep chuckle from Luke. He felt like he should be doing something in return, but Luke didn't seem to mind, so he just lay there and enjoyed what Luke was doing to him. After a while, Luke's mouth began roaming again, tracing the line of fine golden hairs on Bo's stomach. Bo suddenly realized where Luke was headed was he really going to ? And then Luke's lips brushed against his dickhead and he trembled with pleasure. Luke gently kissed Bo's most sensitive parts, then started licking. As that first drop of fluid oozed out of the slit, he caught it on his tongue and spread it around. Salty, kind of tangy, not at all unpleasant. Luke had never done this before, at least on the giving side, but he knew how wonderful it felt to receive, and he wanted to give that pleasure to Bo. He wasn't sure he was ready yet to take it all the way, but that wasn't what he wanted right now anyway. He just wanted to get Bo caught up to him so they could come together. Somehow that seemed real important tonight; that they share this pleasure. Bo couldn't do anything but lay there and experience the amazing sensation of Luke's mouth on his dick. Luke had been right earlier; this was even better than what he'd felt before. But wait wasn't he supposed to be doing Luke now? He felt kind of guilty being on the receiving end again. But this felt so good that he knew he'd never be able to stop Luke, so he just laid back and enjoyed. As Luke continued, Bo began to move beneath him, his hips thrusting as he got close to his climax again. Much to his disappointment, that was when Luke chose to stop, instead kissing another trail UP his body this time. When Luke's face was level with his, he asked, "Luke, why'd you stop?" Luke smiled tenderly and caressed his cheek. "I promise you, Bo, I'll finish you that way one of these days. But right now I want us to finish together. OK?" When Bo saw the need in Luke's eyes, he quickly agreed. Luke kissed him again, repositioning his body over Bo's so that their dicks were nestled together. They kissed and moved against each other, harder and faster. It wasn't long before both of them were covered with sweat from the exertion in the summer heat. Still they kept going until finally Luke couldn't hold back any longer. "Oh, god, Bo, I'm coming!" he cried out as the tremors took him. Bo was only moments behind him, and they clung together as their bodies exploded in joy. When it was done, they both lay there, not moving, not able to move, not wanting to move. Wanting to stay joined in that moment forever. Finally, Luke lifted his head from Bo's shoulder and slid off, rolling onto his back. Their bodies were covered by the sticky mess, but Luke was too exhausted to care. After a few minutes, he felt Bo moving beside him, sitting up and getting out of bed. Luke was drowsing off when Bo returned. His eyes fluttered open as Bo gently wiped him clean with a cool washcloth. Bo smiled down at him. "You did all the work earlier; this is the least I could do." Bo folded the washcloth over and handed him the clean side to wipe his face. The cool damp cloth felt good to his heated skin. He handed it back to Bo who got up and tossed it back into the bathroom, then came back and blew out the candles before rejoining Luke in the big bed. Luke smiled and held out his arm, inviting Bo to snuggle close. Despite the heat of the night, they both felt the need to retain this closeness. Bo's head nestled on his shoulder, one arm flung across Luke's chest. His fingers traced random patterns across Bo's shoulders. Neither of them felt the need to talk; just being together was enough for now. As he felt sleep calling, Luke bent down and gently kissed the blond head nestled against him. "Night, Bo. Love you." "Mmmm. You too," came the muffled reply.
