Return of the City Slicker
Bo Duke paced nervously outside the door to the Hazzard High School Auditorium.  Not a place he had a lot of fond memories of.  School hadn't exactly been his favorite activity.  He'd always had too much energy to stay cooped up inside on a beautiful spring day.  Or fall day.  Heck, even winters in Hazzard weren't so bad outside.  Anything was better than sitting at a desk with teachers asking him questions about things he really couldn't care less about.  Luke was the smart one, he always did well in school.  If it hadn't been for his older cousin's watchful eye, Bo would have gotten into even more trouble than he did.  In fact, when Luke had graduated and gone into the Marines, Bo had gotten into more than his share of trouble those last two years.  It was a part of his life that he'd really rather forget about.

So what was he doing here, about to step through those doors again of his own choice?  There were two things in life that were special to Bo - racing and music.  He'd always had a good strong, deep voice, and picked up harmonies easily.  Singing in the high school chorus had been the only thing he'd really enjoyed back then.

Now, Hazzard had a theater company that put on a play every summer.  This year, they were trying something different - a musical.  Somebody on the Board had found a director from the college down in Statesville who was looking for a summer job with a local theater company.  The board had met with him, they'd talked about it and picked a show, and now that the college had recessed for summer vacation, they were ready to begin.  Signs went up all over town trying to recruit anybody who could sing, since many of the 'regulars' of the acting company were what you might call tone deaf.  They could handle the lesser roles, but the leads needed strong singers.

Luke had been the one who had seen the poster, and told Bo about it.  "You're always singing, Bo.  And with your good looks and charm, who else could play the lead?  You know there ain't nobody around here could compete with you!"

Luke's affectionate teasing aside, Bo knew he had a point.  But - acting?  That was a whole different ballgame.  And yet, it was kind of a dream of his, to show the people of Hazzard that he was more than just a pretty face.  That he could do something else besides drive real fast.  And so he let Luke talk him into coming back here for the audition.

Luke had offered to stay with him, but Bo had asked him to leave.  This was something he had to do on his own.  So Luke had dropped him off and gone over to the Hazzard Garage to hang out with Cooter until Bo was done.  Working up his courage, Bo wiped his sweaty palms on his jeans one last time and pushed the door open.

The auditorium was busy as a bee hive, people milling around nervously waiting for their turn to be called.  Over to one side, he spotted Miz Tisdale, who was riding herd on the sign-up sheet.  Bo made his way over and took his place in line.  When it got to be his turn, she looked up at him with a big smile.

"Why Bo Duke!  We was hopin' you'd come out!  Oh, you'd be just PERFECT for the Professor!  You are auditioning for that, ain't you?"

Her enthusiasm caught Bo off guard.  He felt the blush creeping up his neck as he nodded, smiling shyly.  "Yes, ma'am," he managed to say, glad that he'd taken Luke's advice and gone to see Aimee at the library and get some information on this show.  The male lead in "The Music Man" was a con man who went by the name of 'Professor Harold Hill.'  Aimee even had a record of the music from the movie of this show, so he'd gotten to listen to the songs.  He'd been kind of surprised to find out they had records at the library ...

Miz Tisdale got him to fill out the form, attached a blue index card to it with an "H" written on it, and put it right on the top of the stack.  "I'll just take these right over to Tommie so he can get started."  She patted Bo's hand.  "Good luck, Bo, not that you'll need it!"

Bo swallowed nervously as he watched her carry the pile of applications over to a dark-haired man standing by the piano, obviously the director.  As he looked up at Miz Tisdale, Bo's stomach dropped through the floor.  It couldn't be ...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Over at the Hazzard Garage, Luke crawled out of the General and went inside, looking for Cooter.  He found the mechanic buried under the chassis of one of the Hazzard police cars.  As usual, it was in less than pristine condition, likely due to the little game of tag they'd played that morning.  Luke grinned.
"Hey, Cooter.  What'd Rosco do to it this time?"
Cooter squirmed out from under the car and grinned back up at Luke.  "Blew out the transmission ...  You know, Luke, as long as Rosco and the boys keep chasin' you two, my mortgage on this place is paid!"
Luke laughed.  It was true; more than half of Cooter's business seemed to come from fixing up police cars.  He really wondered some times why Boss didn't just give up chasing them; it would sure save him a lot of money in repairs to the police cars!
As Cooter wiped the grease off his hands, he asked, "So what brings you 'round here, Luke?  And where's Bo?"
"I just dropped him off over at the auditorium - he's auditioning for the show."  Luke's pride in his cousin shone in his soft blue eyes.
Cooter's face fell.  "Oh ..."  He looked away, not sure whether he should tell Luke.
Luke frowned.  "Cooter?  What's wrong?  I thought you'd be excited for him?"
Cooter chewed on his lip, finally deciding that Luke would know soon enough anyhow, he might as well hear it here.  "Luke, did you hear who the director is?"
Luke shook his head.  "Some guy from the college down in Statesville ..." his voice trailed off as he made the association.  "It's not ...?"
Cooter nodded.  "Your city slicker from last summer.  Tommie Irwin."
A little over a year ago, their lives had been irrevocably changed when Tommie Irwin last drove through Hazzard on his way to take a job with the Theater Department at the college in Statesville.  He'd thrown a flat tire, and Bo and Luke had helped him change it.  Irwin was one of those 'nancy boys,' the artsy theater types who were more interested in other boys than in girls.  And he'd taken one look at Bo and been smitten.
The problem had been that Bo had been just as attracted to him.  The incident had forced him to finally admit to himself that he was gay.  It had also stirred up old feelings of desire for Luke, feelings that had been there since their first teenaged explorations of sexuality.  Depressed, knowing he could never have what he really wanted, Bo had been ready to leave town, leave his family behind, until Luke finally made him admit what the problem was.  What followed then was nothing short of a miracle.  Not only did Luke accept him as he was, he was able to love Bo in return.
Luke supposed they owed Irwin their thanks for bringing them together.  But frankly, he never wanted to see the man again.  He hadn't liked the way he looked at Bo like a piece of meat.  His eyes had been hungry.  Luke suddenly realized that what he'd been feeling, even back then, was jealousy.  It wasn't just his desire to protect Bo from an unwanted advance; he had been jealous of the way Irwin wanted him.
The realization hit Luke hard.  Cooter's hand reached out to steady him.
"Luke?  You ok?"
Luke shook himself.  "Yeah ..."
Cooter wasn't so sure about that.  He steered Luke towards the back office, towards a chair.  "Luke, it don't necessarily mean nothin'.  Bo might not get the part.  Irwin might not be interested any more ..."
Luke didn't have to say one word; the look on his face said it all.  Bo would get the part, precisely because Irwin was still interested.  AND because he probably deserved it.  Luke would never be entirely sure which.
The worst part was that he wasn't sure Bo could handle this.  He wanted to trust Bo, trust in their love.  But when it came to romance, Bo had always been kind of flighty.  He'd told Luke that it was because he wasn't really interested in any of the women he'd dated, and that had made sense at the time.  But now Luke found he really wasn't sure.
Then there was that incident with Rosco at the Dance Hall Days.  Bo had been the one pushing for that.  At the time, Luke had accepted that it was at least partly Bo's curiosity, having never been with another man besides Luke.  Had that been enough, or was he still curious?
Cooter could see the numbers adding up in Luke's head.  "Luke, he loves you.  I ain't never seen nobody more right together than you two.  Bo might be a bit ... impulsive.  But he wouldn't risk losing you.  You got to believe that.  You got to trust him."
Luke took a deep breath and nodded.  "You're right, Cooter.  God, you should have seen him when he finally realized he had a chance, that he could do this.  He wants it so bad ... I can't mess it up for him with this jealousy."
Cooter nodded and laid a reassuring hand on Luke's shoulder.   Although in his heart he had his own doubts.  But he pushed them aside and gently squeezed Luke's shoulder.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Tommie?  He's here.  The young man I told you about.  We've got our Professor, I'm sure of it!"

Tommie Irwin looked up as Miz Tisdale approached with a stack of applications.  The one on top was obviously the boy many of the locals had targeted for the lead role.  He looked up and over where she was pointing, right into the eyes of his blond Adonis.  A broad smile on his face, he strode across the room to where Bo stood, staring at him in shock.

"Well, if it isn't my very own Prince Charming!  Too bad we're not doing Cinderella!  Don't tell me you can sing, too?"

Bo felt himself blushing all the way up to his hair. And much to his chagrin, he felt something stirring a bit lower.  "Uh, hi again, Mr. Irwin ..."

Irwin's arm wrapped around his shoulders.  "Oh, come now, Bo.  It's Tommie."

Uncomfortable, Bo pulled away.  "Uh, yeah, Tommie ..."  That touch left him way too flustered.

Irwin could sense his reluctance.  With a small frown, he headed toward the piano.  Ellie Mayer, the church organist, sat there waiting.  "All right, then, Bo.  Let's see what you've got.  What would you like to sing for us?  Something from the show?"

Embarrassed again, Bo realized he should have learned one of the songs he was auditioning for.  "Um, I really don't know them all that well ..." he hedged.

Ellie came to his rescue.  "Bo.  Stick with what you know."  She played the intro to 'Amazing Grace.'  Almost without thinking, Bo started singing the familiar hymn, his voice pure and strong.  People all over the auditorium stopped talking to listen to him.

Irwin was blown away.  Bo had a pure, natural talent.  Untrained, but that could be remedied.  That gorgeous body AND he really could sing, too!  Irwin knew he had to have him - in his show, and in his bed.  But he realized he'd have to play it low key.  The boy was obviously shy when it came to matters of love.

When Bo finished, everybody in the room knew the leading man had been found.  Everybody except Bo, that is.  But of course the formalities had to be observed, everyone else had to have their turn.  So Bo went to sit in the back of the audience, nervously awaiting the results.

Sitting there in the dark, his mind kept going back to that moment when Irwin had touched him.  Why had he reacted like that?  What was it about this guy that kept doing this to him?  He was happy with Luke, he didn't need someone else now.  So why had he started to get hard the minute Irwin touched him?

Eventually, he began paying attention to the other auditions.  Some of the folks sounded pretty good; he was surprised.  Who would have thought Mr. Wilson, the high school biology teacher, could sing?

Finally, everybody had been heard, and Irwin and the Theater Company's regular director, Mike Lewis, put their heads together.  They started calling some people back down, sometimes singly, sometimes in pairs, to act out scenes.  Bo started to figure out that it was a pretty good thing that he kept getting called down to pair with a lot of other folks; he seemed to be the only man being paired with all the contenders for leading lady.  He was starting to get really excited, especially when he realized he was having as much fun with the acting as he had singing.  That was, until he was called out one last time.

"Bo, stay put.  Annabelle Franklin, come on up."

For the second time that day, Bo's heart fell through his stomach.  He hadn't been paying attention much when the ladies were auditioning, hadn't even realized she was here.

"You can't mean I'd have to work with that sissy-boy as my leading man?"  Annabelle Franklin's powerful voice rang out.  It seemed oddly ironic to Bo that she was auditioning for the role of the leading lady, Marian the Librarian.

Irwin glared at her with a stare that could freeze boiling water.   "Annabelle, dear, if you have a problem with gay men, I suggest you find yourself another hobby ..."  His limp-wristed posture and the tone of his voice made it clear he took her words as a personal insult.

Several people nearby laughed nervously as Annabelle sputtered and fumed.  Bo felt like he wanted to crawl under the nearest rock.  Maybe he should get out of here now, while he still could.  The idea of working with Irwin made him nervous, and Annabelle was just the icing on the cake.  This wasn't such a good idea ...

"Look, Mr. Irwin, maybe I'll pass on this one," he started, but Tommie wasn't about to let him go.  And neither were the ladies who formed the core of the Hazzard Theater Company.  They crowded around him, begging him to stay.  It did wonders for Bo's ego, and his enthusiasm.

Tommie was annoyed; Annabelle had been his first choice for the role of Marian.  But if these two couldn't get along, Bo had to stay.  And not just because Tommie wanted him; he really was far and away the best candidate they had. "Bo, if Ms. Franklin is a problem, I'm sure somebody else could play Marian ..." Irwin was still looking daggers at Annabelle.

As much as he disliked Annabelle, that just didn't sit right with Bo.  He looked into Annabelle's stunned eyes as he answered.  "No, sir, that's not right.  She deserves the right to try.  If she'll play nice, so will I.  It is called acting for a reason, ain't it?"

Now, Annabelle realized that she looked like a bitch, and Bo was coming off as a saint.  As usual.  It really irritated her.  But she still wanted the lead role; even if she had to put up with him.

"Oh, all right!" she exclaimed in exasperation.

Irwin had a sudden inspiration.  In the show, while the lead characters eventually fell in love, they started out on opposite sides.  The Professor was a con man; Marian was the one who figured out they were being conned, and tried to expose him.  He flipped through the script to a scene early in the show which was more than a bit confrontational.  As Bo and Annabelle read through it, they both latched onto their underlying animosity, and the scene just came alive.  And surprisingly, it played as if the underlying tension had a sexual element to it.  It was perfect.

Irwin wasn't the only one to think so.  As they finished the scene, the crowd watching broke out into spontaneous applause.  Bo found himself grinning from ear to ear, his body on an adrenaline high that was different from the pure thrill of racing.

"Well, folks, I'd say that settles that.  We've got our leads.  We'll post the list of the rest of the roles tomorrow.  Thanks to everybody for coming out today.  Tommie, let's get to work pinning this down."

With that, Mike Lewis ended the auditions.  But before leaving with Mike, Tommie moved close to whisper in Bo's ear, sliding an arm around his shoulders.

"You really are amazing, Bo.  I'm SO looking forward to working with you ..."

Bo was so excited already that he almost didn't notice the extra jolt that touch sent to certain parts of his anatomy.  Almost.  But for the moment he was too happy to worry.

"Yes, sir!  Me too, Mr. Irwin, uh, Tommie."  He added the more familiar first name after Tommie gave him a mock angry glare at his formality.  Both of them laughed, and then Tommie was off chasing after Mike Lewis to finalize the rest of the casting choices.

Bo practically bounced out of the auditorium as he headed toward the pay phone in the lobby.  He dropped a quarter in and dialed the number for the garage.

"Hazzard Garage.  Cooter here, what'cha got?"

"Hey Cooter!  Is Luke still there?"

"Sure thing, buddy.  You wanna talk at him?"

Bo actually giggled.  "Nah.  Just tell him to get over to the school to pick up the star of the show!"

Bo's excitement came through the phone line.  It was so infectious Cooter forgot to be worried.  "The star, huh?  We gonna have to ask for your autograph now?"

"Nah, ya wouldn't want that.  But if you're real nice to me, I might let you carry my costumes or somethin'!"

Cooter laughed.  "OK, buddy, Luke's on his way over.  Catch ya later, if you still have time for us little people!"

"Thanks, Cooter!"  Bo hung up the phone and went outside to wait for Luke.  He felt so good, so happy.  He couldn't wait to share this with Luke.  Thinking about his cousin made him realize that he was also more than a little horny.  Yes, that was how he wanted to celebrate.

Luke had heard Bo's excited voice through the phone back at the garage.  There was still a tickle of worry at the back of his mind, but he determinedly pushed it aside.  Bo deserved his heartfelt congratulations today.  By the time he drove up in front of the High School Auditorium, all he was thinking about was celebrating with his lover.

Bo gracefully slid in the window on the passenger side of the car almost before Luke had come to a stop.  His grin was enough to light up the whole town at Christmastime.  And then his arms were wrapped around Luke and they were kissing like there was no tomorrow.   Luke kind of got the impression that if there'd been room in the car, Bo would have crawled right into his lap.

Laughing, he extricated himself from Bo's long arms.  "Easy, cousin, easy!  Can ya wait till we get home to celebrate?"

Bo's face was flushed with his excitement and arousal.  "Dang it, Luke, don't know if I can wait that long!"

Luke pushed him back into the passenger seat.  "Stay out of my way and we'll see how fast we can get there!"

With that, he gunned the engine and peeled out of the school parking lot.  Bo chattered eagerly about the audition.

"You'll never guess who's my leading lady ..."

Luke glanced sideways at him, one eyebrow cocked.  It hadn't really sunk in that the show was a romantic comedy.  But the look on Bo's face hinted that it wasn't what you'd think.  "Who?"

"Annabelle Franklin."

Luke closed his eyes for just a moment, trying to imagine Annabelle and Bo kissing.  It SO didn't work.  A rude sort of snort burst from his throat.  Again he glanced over at Bo.  "You've got to be kidding ... "

Bo was still grinning ear to ear.  "Well, they're kind of enemies at first.  So Tommie had us play out a scene where we're fighting, and BOY did it work!"

Luke raised an eyebrow at the mention of the director's name.  He'd been wondering when Bo was going to bring that up.  "Tommy?"

That brought Bo crashing down from his high.  He'd have to tell Luke who the director was.  He had a feeling Luke wasn't going to like it one bit.

"Um, yeah, listen, Luke, there's something I got to tell ya, ..."

Seeing the sudden change in Bo's attitude nearly broke Luke's heart.  This was a special day for Bo; he didn't want this issue to ruin it for his lover.  He spoke very softly, reaching out one hand to rest on Bo's knee.

"It's ok, Bo.  I know.  Our city slicker's back.  He didn't give you any trouble, did he?"

Bo was stunned by the gentleness in Luke's voice.  He'd expected anger.  "No, Luke, not a bit.  Really."  He was eager to reassure Luke that anger wasn't necessary.  Even if somewhere in the back of his mind, he wasn't entirely convinced of that yet himself.

Luke's fingers squeezed Bo's leg.  "OK, then.  If he does, you just let me know."

Bo covered Luke's hand with his own.  "I will, Luke.  You know that."

Luke lifted his hand, taking Bo's along with it, bringing his cousin's long fingers to his lips.  A gentle kiss, then he let go and focused all his attention on the road.  He didn't want Bo to ever think that he'd doubted him ...

After what felt like an hour but was really only about 15 minutes, they pulled into the Duke farm.  Scrambling out of the car, they both quickly noted that Daisy's jeep was gone; with any luck, she and Uncle Jesse had gone into town together.

"Uncle Jesse?" Bo called out as they pushed open the door.  Hearing no response, they knew they were alone, and quickly turned to each other.  Their lips locked in a passionate kiss as they began undressing each other.  They stumbled blindly down the hallway toward their bedroom, leaving a trail of shirts in their wake.  All of Bo's excitement and passion had returned the minute Luke's lips touched his.

They tumbled down onto the bed, almost wrestling with the power of their passion.  As usual, Bo's longer reach gave him the early advantage and he ended up on top.  Pinning Luke beneath him, he ground his hips against his lovers', while his tongue probed deeper and deeper into Luke's mouth.

Finally pulling back, he gasped out, "Luke.  Need.  To be inside you."

Now, it wasn't often they did things that way; more often than not, Luke was the 'top' in this relationship.  Which kind of made it special when they switched off.  Luke figured he could understand why today Bo felt the need to be in control; this was his day, his special moment.  He smiled up at Bo, reaching up to caress his face.  "Anything you want, love."

Bo smiled back as Luke's hand trailed down his neck, over his chest, down over his groin.  As he sat up, Luke's hands tugged at his belt, slipping inside his jeans, freeing his straining cock from its denim prison.  He moaned with delight as Luke stroked him.

But as delightful as that was, he wanted more.  So he pulled away, standing up to skin off the jeans, kicking off his boots, and tossing the whole mess onto the floor.  As he did so, Luke's hands went to his own fly, quickly pulling things open, lifting his hips and pushing his jeans down as far as he could.  Bo grinned down at him, finishing the job, adding Luke's clothes to the pile on the floor.

Luke rolled over onto his side, pulling one leg up to give Bo the access he wanted.  Bo sat down beside him, running his hand over Luke's body as his eyes hungrily admired the sight.  Luke's body seemed the ultimate in perfection to him; proportioned just right, strong, powerful, glorious.  Tearing his eyes away from that feast, he reached into the nightstand to retrieve the lube, placing it down at the foot of the bed for the moment.  Then he bent over Luke and kissed him, starting at his mouth, working his way down his neck, across his shoulder, down the side of his back, over his rump, to the exposed inner thigh.  His hands teased lightly at Luke's balls as he licked the sensitive skin where the leg joined the body.

Luke was moaning, beginning to squirm around in a desperate attempt to get Bo to touch him more firmly.  But it seemed Bo was determined to drive him nuts with these gentle touches.  It was working.  Finally, Bo reached for the lube and slipped one fingertip inside Luke, drawing a low groan from deep in Luke's throat.  Slowly, he worked it in, probing for Luke's sweet spot.   He knew he'd found it when Luke hissed with pleasure.

"Aw, yeah, Bo!  That's it!"  Luke gasped as Bo's long finger brushed again and again over that spot.

Bo smiled, reveling in the power he held over Luke right now.  Luke, always the strong one, always the protector, was able to let him take control - at least once in a while.  To know that he was the only one Luke had ever allowed this privilege made him feel special beyond words.  Tenderly, he cupped Luke's balls, rolling them around in his big hand, squeezing gently.  Luke was breathing heavily, panting, really.  Bo knew he was ready for more, so he added some more lube and worked in a second finger, feeling that tight ring of muscle stretching to make room.  Knowing it probably hurt just a bit, seeing as how they really didn't do this often, he took his time, reaching around with his other hand to stroke Luke's dick, adding pleasure to counteract the slight pain as he slowly worked his way in.

Luke felt like every nerve ending down there was throbbing.  He willed himself to relax, to let Bo in.  It felt so good, but he wanted more.  Bo's fingers spread apart, stretching him even further, preparing him for Bo's dick, which was so big he'd been more than a little afraid of trying this at first.  Now he wanted it, craved it, needed it.

"Bo, please ..." he gasped, looking at his lover with pleading in his eyes.

Bo looked down at him tenderly, their eyes meeting and holding.  He leaned over and kissed Luke as his fingers thrust a few last times.  Their lips parted as his fingers slipped out, leaving Luke feeling bereft, but knowing that something even better was coming.

Luke rolled over onto his back as Bo wiped his hand clean and applied the lube to his dick.  He lifted his legs, welcoming his lover.   Bo moved into position, holding his dick against Luke's opening, teasing him with it.  He had to chuckle softly when Luke let out a soft groan of frustration.

"All right, all right, I'm comin', love."  He held Luke's eyes with his as he pushed in, watching them widen as his body was stretched to the point of pain, then slowly refocus as it adapted.  It was his turn to groan as he slowly worked his way in.  Luke's body gripped him so tightly it was pulling him in.

Luke marveled at the feelings coursing through his body; the physical sensations, as well as the emotions, as Bo filled him, body and soul.  As they began moving together, all thought vanished from his brain.  They were together - joined - and nothing else mattered.  The pleasure grew and grew, swelling his dick and his heart.  He reached up, pulling Bo down toward him, his legs wrapping around Bo's waist, locking them together.  Bo lay over him, kissing him, loving him, filling his entire world.  Until finally there was just too much, and the entire world shattered into wave after wave of pleasure.

When he opened his eyes again, Bo was still laying over him, limp now, breathing heavily.  They were still joined, but he could feel Bo's dick softening.  He wrapped his arms around his lover, sliding his hands up over the broad back, into the soft blond hair.  Holding Bo close, he felt the ultimate in contentment.  For some reason, his earlier doubts came back to his mind, and he wondered how he could have ever doubted this, for even a minute?  What he and Bo shared was something that not one couple in a million had, gay or straight.  This was special; he knew it deep in the core of his being.

His sigh got Bo's attention.  Lifting himself off of Luke, Bo gently separated them, then laid down beside Luke, his head pillowed on his lover's shoulder.  "Luke?"

Luke looked down into Bo's sapphire eyes, guilt over his earlier distrust filling his heart.  He gently caressed Bo's face.  "I'm sorry, Bo ..." he whispered softly.

Bo was confused.  "Sorry?  About what?"  He pulled away from Luke, sitting up to better see his face.

Luke sighed again.  "When Cooter told me who was directing the show ... I remembered how much this Irwin guy got to you last year.  I realized that even back than, I was jealous of him, the way he looked at you.  I guess I was afraid you might still want him ..."

Luke's words sent a pang of guilt through Bo as he remembered his body's unwilling reactions to Irwin.  But even though he knew Luke hadn't been off base after all, part of him was mad that Luke would doubt him.  But it was obvious that Luke regretted his doubts.

"Luke, he didn't give me no trouble, I swear to you.  You got nothin' to be jealous of ..."

Luke reached up and caressed Bo's cheek.  "I know, Bo.  That's why I said I'm sorry ... I shoulda trusted you, trusted in our love."

Bo just nodded.  But somewhere in the back of his brain, he knew Luke had been right.  For the moment he pushed it aside.  He caught Luke's hand, brought it to his lips.  "Don't worry, Luke.  I can handle Irwin."

Luke smiled softly.  "I know you can, Bo."
