| Tree Climbing Contest May 2002 |
| This is the first tree climbing contest. It was a between Lavender, Poodle, Megan and Janet. the result was a tie Between Megan and Janet. the both reached the same branch and couldn't go any higher. So here it is, a report on the tree climbing contests of may 2002. |

| Megan is 12 years old and will be 13 in a week. She weighs 110 pounds. Megan has climbed trees before but not much. but we all knew she was good. Because she's taller then us she can reach more branches and because she's more brave, she will. When she first went up after Laverder Poodle every one thought she had won including her and Janet. But a Tie is better then losing she agrees. When Megan passed my mark she was very happy. "I thought I was going to win" she says. But while Megan was fine going up she got nerviouse on the way down. Every one seems to agree that going down is harder. "I was a little dissappointed" she says when she found out she tied with Janet but "I was glad that Janet had a good experience her first time climbing a tree, |
| Janet is 10 years old and will turn 11 in two weeks. She weighs 90 pounds. Janet is not a tree climber. In fact she has a fear of hights! Janet climbed last in the compatition. She made it all the way to megans mark but couldn't reach any higher to the dissapointment to all of us. (because it was a tye not because we wanted her to win neccecaraly). she was fine the whole time until she came back down. When she was two feet about the ground, her fear of hights kicked in and "It felt like something wacked my stomache really hard" she said. with this sudden stomache pain she could barely move and we had to help her down. But never the less we could call her mnothing else but tied with Megan. When Megan first went up we all thought she was the winnner because I hadn't made it and Janet was inexperienced. but she proved us wrong. |

| Lavender Poodle has had tree climbing experience and loves climbing but she was always afraid to go that little bit further. "I guess being tall makes a difference but I think if I pushed myself I could have gone mush higher. I didn't feel comfortable though. that was the thing. I didn't want to to go any further" she says. Although she would have liked to win, she knows the object is not for you to win but to find out who the winner is. |
