NAME: Shelley
NICKNAME: "Cat"
HOOKED-UP: 1996-'97

NOTEWORTHY: In late 1995, I got wrapped up in the on-line
chat craze that was beginning to build steam back then; but
instead of Internet channels that spanned the glode, I chose
to remain (primarily) within the community of a BBS I signed
on with by the beginning of 1996:  The Hotel California.

And so was introduced Link #1 in my "
BBS Chain."

This is where I met Shelley on-line, in addition to many other
BBSers I became acquainted with.  One such chat junkie (i.e.
"Chunkie") was a guy whose handle was "Bluese."  He had a
birthday gathering planned for B.B. King's Blues Club within
Universal's Citywalk one night; and that is where Shelley & I
met for the first time.  We immediately hit it off, giving in to
our mutual attraction by hooking up the next night (after
talking her into attending
the show in Long Beach) to begin
what would become my longest relationship up through that
point (16 months).

Shelley is someone who came along at an ideal time for me.

Having just entered the second half of my 20s upon us meeting, she introduced me to many things which I had not understood--or even knew existed--before.  As a girlfriend, she was creative, wild, fun and a real turn-on in a number of ways (physically and mentally) that kept the spice alive between us long beyond where it may have fizzled out for me in past relationships.  As a person, her open-mindedness, experience & maturity is what helped to further my own development as an adult; and in addition to many other things, I will always be thankful to her for this.

Even after our break-up, Shelley has remained a good friend o'mine.  We still exchange occasional E-mails to catch one another up on each other's lives; and while I've not been able to visit with her in person for at least a few years now, she is still considered to be a good friend whom I hope to remain on positive terms with for the rest of my life.
