INDONESIAN VISA AND VISA RENEWAL INFORMATION

On arrival to Indonesia, tourists receive a one month visa for $US 25.00.  

To renew an Indonesian visa for one month, East Timor is the cheapest option; it�s a same day visa service (VOA) for $US25.00 Merpati flights depart Kupang and arrive Dili Friday and Sunday depature time: 12.30 and return the same day. Merpati Air, Lion Air, Adam Air, and Star Air, Pelita Air,Batavia Air, Trans Nusa Air, all fly from Bali (Denpasar), Surabaya, Jakarta, Makasar, and Yogjakarta to Kupang (please note.:-there is a Rp:50'000 airport departure tax which must be paid separately at Kupang airport and you will need to have ready U.S. $10 for Dili airport departure tax.)

Travelers must apply for a two month visa abroad. It is possible to apply for a two month visa in Dili, East Timor ($US35.00 seven working days).  Merpati Airlines also fly out there.

60 days visa take a minimum of two working days ( it's best to apply as early as possible, but within three months of when you are leaving if applying by post) when applied for in Australia at the Indonesian embassy or consulate. It costs AU $ 60.  It is possible to fly from Kupang to Darwin (where there is an Indonesian embassy) on Tuesdays and Saturdays on Merpati.  Merpati Airlines operate a joint venture with Australian carrier AirNorth, using AirNorth planes and crew for the flights between Darwin and Kupang.

A return flight is $US320.00/ one way $US160.00 if you buy the ticket in Indonesia.

If you buy a ticket in Australia, it costs around $520Aus ( July 2005) for a one month visit and around $580Aus for a one year open ticket.  This includes Australian taxes.  You must have a ticket out of Indonesia on entering the country. ???????????
