AJ just kept on smiling and walked into the bathroom. While in there, he thought about all that had happened today. He thought he had gotten a lot of signals from Laura, but then he had remembered her boyfriend, that bastard. He splashed his face with cold water to clear his mind. He decided he was definitely into her, even if she did have a boyfriend.

In the �Living room,� Laura was on the couch, flipping through the channels on the TV. Kevin saw her on the way to his bunk and sat down on the couch next to her. �What are you doing?� he asked.

�I�m trying to see what�s on. There really is nothing,� Laura said.

�You�re supposed to be in bed, young lady!!� Kevin said, taking the remote from her sarcastically.

�Young lady?!� Laura said, flabbergasted. No one had called her that since about 6th grade. �Excuse me?�

�Haha, I�m just playin,� Kevin said, smiling. �I�m not tired either.�

�Gimme the clicker back,� Laura said, reaching for the remote that was still in Kevin�s hand.

�Answer me one question,� Kevin said, suddenly serious.

�Alrighty,� Laura said, semi-wary of the approaching question.

�What�s the deal with you and AJ?�

Laura was taken aback that he was being so straightforward. No one ever came right out and asked what they wanted to know. �What do you mean?�

�I mean, are you into him? Cuz you sure looked like it today�� Kevin said.

Laura had no idea what to say. She honestly had no response. She had a boyfriend, after all, even if it wasn�t for long. �I have a boyfriend,� she said after a while.

�No! You hesitated!� Kevin said. �So what�s the truth?�

�Aaaaahhh!! You�re not gonna give up on this are you?!� Laura said, standing up and looking down at Kevin.

Kevin stood up as well. When he did so, he was about 6 inches taller than her. �No, I�m not. I saw you and him today and it looked to me like you were into him.�

�Ok, maybe I was. Why are you being so mean?�

�I�m not being mean! I just don�t want AJ to get hurt again.�

�What do you mean, �again�?�

AJ came out of the bathroom before Kevin could respond. �Hey guys,� he said. He had only caught bits and pieces of their conversation, but he had heard the part where Laura had said she was into him today.

�Hey,� Kevin said.

AJ continued to his bunk, smiling like crazy.

�Kevin, what were you saying, before? About AJ getting hurt again?� Laura asked. She was really curious.

�Well, Amanda burnt (AN: my friend says the proper grammar would be �burned�, but I don�t care!) him real bad,� Kevin said, quieter this time. �I just don�t want him to go through that again, ya know? He was a mess.�

�Well, we�re not even together, so you don�t really have to worry about that,� Laura said.

�Yeah, I know. But say you did get together, what�s to say one of you wouldn�t hurt the other?� Kevin asked, sitting down on the couch again.

�I don�t know�but I don�t think that�s gonna happen,� Laura said, sitting next to him. �I really don�t see me and AJ getting together any time soon, or maybe ever.�

�Yeah, but have you seen him around you? He�s really into you.�

�What?� Ok, now she was really confused. �Did he tell you that?�

�No, but all the guys know it,� Kevin said.

�Ok, whatever,� Laura said. She got off the couch and started pacing. She was getting a little uncomfortable, mainly because Kevin was hitting a place in her that she never dared think about before. �Umm, could we talk about this tomorrow? I need to think a little.�

�Alright,� Kevin said, getting off the couch. �I didn�t mean to make you feel bad, really. Ok?�

�Your wife is so lucky,� Laura said randomly.

�What? Why?�

�You�re so sweet and I can tell you really care about AJ,� Laura said.

�How did you know I was married?�

�Well, first, there�s that ring on your finger. And second, don�t tell, but I�ve been a huge fan of yall�s for, like, ever,� Laura said, kinda embarrassed.

�Haha! That�s great!�

�Yeah, I�ve got all the CDs, even the UK ones,� she said.

�So I bet you were really excited when you found out you got the dancer job, huh?�

�Yeah, it was like a dream come true.�

�Let me just say, I�m glad it�s you and you�re normal and not freaking out around us. If it was some fan who couldn�t contain herself, I dunno what we�d do,� Kevin said, smiling.

�Ok, well I�m going to sleep now,� Laura said, looking at her watch and realizing it was about 9:00. They had an early rehearsal at the venue for the first show the next day and they all needed their rest. �Good night,� she said, extending her hand to Kevin.

Kevin pushed her hand aside and pulled her into a hug. �Night,� he said.

Laura laughed and went to say goodnight to the other guys.

AJ had been over hearing (ok, eavesdropping) the rest of their conversation and he was mildly upset. Number one, Kevin had told Laura that he liked her. And number two, Laura had said she couldn�t see him and her together. Before, she had said she was into him today, hadn�t she? Did he hallucinate that because that�s what he was feeling?

She stuck her head in his bunk to say goodnight. She looked so cute, and she had the most beautiful smile he�d ever seen. He was sure he hadn�t misheard her. He�d have to talk to her about it in the morning. He could only hope he would have the courage not to back out.
