CHICKEN AND DUMPLINGS

3/4 cup diced celery
3/4 cup diced onion
4 cloves garlic
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup flour
2 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1 tsp basil
1/2 tsp pepper
2 cans chicken broth
4 oz can sliced mushrooms, drained
1 cup frozen peas
4 cups cooked, diced chicken

Dumplings
2 cups Bisquick
2 tsp basil
2/3 cup milk

Saute celery, onion and garlic in the butter. Add flour, sugar, salt, pepper, basil and chicken broth. Bring to a boil and cook 2 minutes. Add peas, mushrooms and chicken. Return to a boil and cook 5 minutes more. Pour into 9x13 baking dish. Make dumplings and drop onto chicken mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Cover and bake for 10 more minutes.
