Who are Los Lonely Boys? They are three multi-talented brothers from San Angelo, TX. Henry, the lead guitar player is the oldest, followed by JoJo on Bass and Ringo on drums (the baby). These guys really know how to put on a great show! They play rock, blues, ballads and some pop tunes. They write their own stuff and now and then play a few covers like Superstitious, Voodoo Child, I Walk the Line, La Bamba and many others.
I learned about them in early 2004 through a friend Steve, who is in a band called Flirt...a Southern California cover band. Please feel free to visit their website (listed on the right side).
I still remember the day Steve came over to talk to me during their break from their set and asked me to listen to the song he was playing...he asked, "do you know who this is" and I said, "hmmmm, it sounds a lot like Santana!" My friend laughed and said well pretty close...it's another very talented group comprised by three Mexican-Americans from Texas, LLB!Well needless to say, the song they were playing was their instrumental "Onda".
I then went out searching for their cd and found out they were playing at the Troubadour in West Hollywood. Tickets went on sale in March for the show in May, but by the time I went to purchase them, they were sold out!!!! I couldn't believe it and wasn't going to let an opportunity like this go by without seeing these talented musicians. I went to my resource in West Hollywood and landed tickets to see them. I was so impressed by their talent...these guys weren't your typical musicians, they were like familia! They are so down-to-earth and make you feel like you are part of their family! LLB makes time for their fans and they appreciate all the support their fans give them.
If you are a big Stevie Ray Vaughn fan then you will definitely appreciate Henry's style of playing. He puts on a good show (you must see to appreciate)...from playing the guitar behind his back, to playing with one hand , or his duo act with JoJo; Henry has one hand on his guitar while playing the bass and JoJo has one on his bass while playing the guitar licks...all while dancing with those polished stacy adam shoes!!! JoJo puts on a great show too with that bass! He'll place the bass flat on the floor and he'll kneel and play it like a lap guitar all with his eyes closed! Ringo just lets it all out on the drums....ORALE RINGO!!!!
