ringbinder/paper for homework and tests
pocket calculator (optional)

Grading: The performance will be graded by midterm and final tests , unannounced quizzes, regular homework and special assignments.

25% final
15% midterm
25% quizzes approx.   8
25% homework approx.  20
10% assignments    approx. 2, oral or written
Grades: A 90%
B 80 %
C 70 %
D 60 %

The quizzes and tests will be announced. No book or notes will be allowed in the quizzes.  Assignments might be oral presentations, participation in experiments, or others.

A missed test, quiz or homework will give you 0 points. Make-up tests or make-up homework will only be possible if an absence is justified and has been reported in time.

In order to make this course a success for everyone in this class,
regular attendance  and active participation in class is important.
Taking personal notes is very important.

Every student has to keep up with the material covered.
Use the consultation hours which are provided.
