The Adoption Website of:
Lauriann and Roberto
Dear Birthparent,

Hi!   We are Roberto and Lauriann.  Although this letter expresses only a small glimpse of who we are, we hope that these words and pictures can describe what is in our hearts as we build our family through adoption.  Please be assured that a child with us will have all the love, security, and opportunity that we and our families can offer.

We met in 1991 and were friends before we started dating.  We were married 2 years later in a small country church in South Dakota.  We have a close and loving relationship, based on friendship, love, and a mutual respect for each other.  Our life together has been full of many wonderful memories.   We anticipate more as our family grows.

In October 2001, we were blessed with the adoption of our precious daughter, Katrina.  We know firsthand that adoption is a blessed way to create a family.  Our lives have been enriched in ways we never even imagined and we are eager to have adoption bless our family once again.  We have a lot of love and laughter to offer a child (children).  Because we are a mature couple, we also can provide financial security and wonderful opportunities to a child (children) who joins our family.

Family is very important to us.  We enjoy spending time with our family and friends, and often spend holidays, birthdays, and Sundays together.  We are both from large families.  Our loving parents stressed compassion, caring and love towards others, and these values we hold dear today.  Our whole family is looking forward to adding a new baby (babies) to the family tree.

Lauriann about Roberto.
Roberto is the love of my life and my best friend.  He is a very kind, loving, gentle, and compassionate man.  These attributes make him a very special daddy to Katrina.  Katrina loves spending time with her daddy.  They often can be found playing outside, reading books, or just inside watching cartoons.  Roberto enjoys teaching Katrina new things, he has taught her to dance and to talk in Spanish.

Roberto was born in Mexico City, the youngest of 8.  He speaks Spanish and often interprets for people who don't speak English.  Roberto enjoys working with people.  Kids are drawn to Roberto immediately, probably for the same reasons everyone is.  Roberto is a fun person who is very open and sincere.  He enjoys biking, sports, reading, remodeling, taking walks, and working around the house.

Roberto about Lauriann..
Lauriann is the most wonderful person I have ever met.  She is tender, caring, and always sensitive to the needs of others.  She has a strong sense of compassion and a heart of gold.  She gets involved in a variety of things, to help out others, and to challenge her creativity.  She enjoys decorating, cooking, art, music, writing, and working with kids.  Holidays at our house are especially fun as Lauriann likes to be creative and always makes the rooms look so festive!

Lauriann has a background in medical training, but because of her love for children, she is presently providing daycare in our home.  She will remain a stay-at-home mother so that she can be near and available to our children.  Lauriann is a natural with children, and watching her love and care for our daughter, I know firsthand that she is a very loving mother, because she so very much appreciates the gift of our daughter.

Lauriann has 2 brothers and 3 sisters.  Her parents have been married over 45 years and live on the same farmstead as her fathers' family.  Her grandparents emigrated from Germany and settled in South Dakota, where all of their family presently lives.

Our daughter Katrina.
Katrina is a very bright, energetic, loving, and happy little girl.  She is very friendly and talkative, and loves to give hugs and kisses.  She loves other children, especially babies.  Katrina loves to play on the swings, go to the park, finger paint, color, and play with dolls. We love to read to her and just watch her explore and learn.  This world is so new to her and it gives new meaning to us seeing it through Katrina's eyes.  Katrina is a true blessing from God.  We know that Katrina will be a wonderful big sister.

Our family
As a family, we enjoy taking walks, dancing, traveling, going on a picnic, and just spending time together.  We enjoy attending cultural events.  We feel it enables us to better understand and appreciate other cultures, as well as our own.  We have been foster parents since 1995, and have enjoyed being able to help other children and their families.  We attend church together and enjoy volunteering to help in any way we can.

Our home.
We live in a cozy 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom ranch style home with a large fenced back yard.  Our neighborhood is in a safe and family-oriented area, close to many parks and good schools.  We try to make our home a place where everyone feels comfortable.  We often have our nieces and nephews spending their weekends and school vacations with us.

Please know we really appreciate you taking the time to read about us.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you make this important decision for yourself and your child.  We know that this decision is not an easy one, but in the end, it is truly a loving one.

We would love to hear from you!  If you would like to meet or to talk to us, please feel free to call us at  1-800-484-2267  pin 8070, or email us at  [email protected]     We wish you God's blessings as you reach your important decision.

Sincerely,

Lauriann and Roberto
