INFORMATION ABOUT THE WORK
I DID AT WNVT-53 and WNVC-56
WNVT-53 and WNVC-56 are sister stations for Northern Virginia's
Public Television and both stations are located in the same building.
WNVT-53 show children's educational programming and college sports. We
have raised $125,000 in sports and over $50,000 in educational programs.
WNVC-56 is all international programming. We have also raised over $70,000
dollars in international programming.
I did production work for both stations. The crew I worked with is very
professional, we had a great teamwork attitude. I mostly directed, but I am
also responsible for camera(studio and field), floor directing ,technical
directing, audio, tape, and chyron operating. Not only did WNVT/WNVC let
me be a versatile director, but versatile in different production
positions. I feel that my Production Manager had a lot of faith in me,
because within two months of employment he gave me a live show to direct.
The following two programs were quite challenging for me.
Hablemos De Salud-This program is a live call-in medical show with
two hosts. There are tape packages, and full page graphics that need to be
seen on cue. The talent speaks in Spanish, which I don't understand, but
when I direct I read body language and inflections in the voices of the
talents. Sometimes there is an Assistant Director that translates for me.
Michael Lui Live-This show an hour long live call-in
program with a host and up to three guests. Sounds simple doesn't it? But
the talent speaks in Chinese, and I don't understand a word of it either!!

Theses shows were done in the studio and field.National Heritage Awards, 1996 and 1997 Easter Mass at The National Cathedral, Inside Embassy Row, FBI Teleconferences, Today's Army, National Arts, July 4th Celebration in Washington, D.C., and Georgetown Women's Basketball.
