Lauren Koslows Biography
Lauren Koslow is powerful, suductive, stylish and dangerously clever as Kate Roberts on NBC's Emmy Award winning and top Neilsen rated drama Days of Our Lives. Koslow joined the series in January of 1996 after wowing television viewers with roles on two other popular dramas - The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful.

As Kate Roberts, Koslow continues to make her television presence known with an Outstanding Supporting Actress Soap Opera Award nomination to her credit (February 2000). Soap Opera Digest and Soap Opera Weekly currently hail her as one of The Most Beautiful Women on Television and Koslow tops The Most Glamorous list at Soap Opera Update (2000).

Koslow says "Kate Roberts operates from a place of control, never from a place of fear. She deals with obstacles head-on and will stop at nothing to protect her children and her empire. Kate works best when under pressure but may show her claws when cornered. I enjoy playing Kate immensely. She maneuvers in ways Lauren wouldn't dare contimplate."

Prior to joining the cast of Days of Our Lives, Koslow was no stranger to television viewers as she starred for several years on two top-rated CBS dramas. Koslow originated the role of fashion designer Margo Lynley on The Bold and the Beautiful (1987-1992) and starred on The Young and the Restless as Lindsay Wells from 1984-1986.

Koslow also appeared on numerous prime-time programs, including The Nanny, The A-Team, Mike Hammer and Spies with George Hamilton. Her regional theater experience includes Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and Dial M for Murder. The popular CD-Rom game series Zork Nemesis features Koslow as the exotic temptress Sophia.

Born in Boston and raised in and around the Massachusetts area, Koslow knew at a very young age that she wanted to be an actress. However, other childhood interests included horseback riding and painting. She initially attended the University of Massachusetts as an art major but after a year off to hike and bike through Europe, Koslow returned to the States and transferred to Virginia Tech. She graduated with a Theater Arts degree specializing in Costume Design.

On a more personal note, the actress is married to television, film and print make-up artist Nick Schillace (Knots Landing, Beverly Hills, 90210), and the mother of two - Zacharia and Millikate. Away from the television studios, Koslow enjoys spending as much time with her family as possible. She keeps her practically perfect figure by maintaining a healthy diet, working out regularly, horseback riding and keeping up with her children. An animal lover since childhood, Koslow has practically turned her Southern California home into an animal farm complete with three dogs, a cat, a bird with an attitude (a gift from Tori Spelling), two lizards, an ever-fluctuating number of chickens, two pet rats, three horses and a pony. Caring for all the animals is quite naturally a family affair.
