Agriculture education is based upon experiential learning. As the FFA motto states, students who participate in agriculture education are "Learning to do, doing the learn, earning to live, living to serve." The experiential learning takes place though participation in FFA and SAEs. I believe that in order for an agriculture science program to be successful, it must include the three components of FFA, SAE, and classroom instruction. Each component of agriculture science is equally important, but the classroom instruction forms the foundation of the program, and is the basis of what is learned through involvement of FFA and SAEs.
