Lake Havasu Mud Madness is a 5K muddy trail run located at the fairgrounds in Lake Havasu City, Az. This is not a typical mud run but more of a mud obstacle course. With more than 19 different challenging obstacles this is a course that will challenge even the avid athlete. No worries for the weekend warrior you are allowed to skip an obstacle if you need to. Plan on getting wet, plan on getting muddy, and plan on having fun.
This event was founded by the Lake Havasu City Parks and Recreation Department and Friends of the Fair.
The idea was simple: Offer a new and exciting type of race that was not a typical 5K or 10K. SARA Park is a somewhat unknown hidden treasure located in Lake Havasu and the fairgrounds (located at SARA Park) is a perfect setting for a race. No road closures are necessary, there is lots of mud and trails, and after a group of local high school students participated in a mud run in California, the idea of Havasu Mud Madness was born. Volunteers and sponsors built the obstacles with the intention of doing the race twice a year, making the course more and more difficult and challenging every time.
Now for the best part: All the proceeds go to help scholarship kids into local recreation and aquatic programs and to help maintain SARA Park!
This race is restricted to age 13 and up, sorry kids! But there is a kid’s mud pit and it is free, so bring the young ones to enjoy some mini mud obstacles.
No pets, sorry!
This is a fundraiser to help benefit the Parks and Recreation youth scholarship fund and to help make improvements to SARA Park fairgrounds. Yes, that means you are getting muddy for a good cause!
Yes, and yes, but if you are planning on having a beer make sure to bring I.D. We proudly serve Mudshark beer!
You will get even muddier! It’s a MUD run, and rain or shine, we will race!
$5, and there is no admission to watch the race.
