I've lived in North Carolina all my life and thankfully am not a redneck like someone from New Bern (hehehehe...). Currently I'm a sophomore at the University of North Carolina in Wilmington (the one at the beach ;D). I am currently majoring in nursing. Why Voltron? Well, I've been watching it since I was about four five years old and have always liked it. Back in the day, hmmm... probably about 8 or 9 years ago, I recorded all the first season and most of the second season episodes off of Toonami (back when Toonami first came out). I actually think the second season episodes were on really early on the WB or something, it was long ago and I don't really remember. My interest in the show has recently piqued once more, which is why I created this page. Plus, I haven't seen too many decently designed Voltron pages out there, they all seem rather simple, even though they mostly have great content. I've been designing personal webpages for over five years now, and I think I'm pretty good. I do get help however from people who just get how to do the tricky stuff, but over all, I consider myself good at making webpages.
As for fanfic writing skills, I haven't written that many, perhaps one or two. What boosts my confidence is that I've been a beta-reader for quite a few authors on ff.net and those with personal webpages for about four years now. However, when planning this site, I wanted to make it easy for me to write whatever I wanted, which would be hard in a traditional story format. What I've done, though it may be annoying to people, is made three different time periods for myself to to write in. That way, I can write about the lives of my characters in any time period I want, without being held back by having to write in chapter form. I can add in small, short stories, or multi-part series into whichever time period floats my boat. I've only seen this done on one other site, but I thought that it was perfect for my writing style. I used it and then adapted it to what I wanted it to be.
Why the original character? I was never really into the whole Keith/Allura pairing. Don't get me wrong, I think they belong together (and they will be in this fic), but I always liked Lance better. Since there are no other females handy in the series, I created my own. A character the complete opposite of Lance makes for funny scenes ;D Laurelbelle came from many hours of daydreaming during classes.
And so as not to limit myself to just fanfics, this page will also house other things that I just feel like putting on it. I like a lot of different anime, so I'd rather not limit myself to just one. With more variety to my site, I wouldn't get as bored with it as quickly and would therefore keep working on it longer.
Yes, it does snow at the beach... once every 15 years! 4 1/2 inches of snow and the city shuts down. No classes! YAY!! Michael and I in the "blizzard" ;D
