The elegance of the romantic theatre...nothing can compare to it. Of all the plays ever written in English, none surpasses the beautiful story of Romeo and Juliet, the most popular romantic tragedy of all time. In fact this story has been done so many times without regard to true Renaissance attire, that a sort of pseudo-Elizabethan genre has emerged. Out of that inspiration comes to you Juliet's Fantasy...our own fantasy renaissance gown. True to other romanticized versions of Tudor Era gowns, ours features the puffed sleeve joined to a very Tudor bell sleeve. The bodice is princess seamed and features a sweetheart neckline to flatter both the ample and modestly breasted. The skirt is full to ball gown full. Both the upper sleeve and the skirt are overlain in lace. Scallop edging is placed on the neckline, sleeves, and lace hemline. As an extra touch we choose to put a row of sequins on our prototype neckline--completely optional on yours.

Our prototype gown is made of polyester in fuchsia taffeta and carnation pink dress lace and edging lace to compensate for the lack of a woven in scallop. We photographed it with Curves inserts for breast enhancement and we used petticoats # 897 and #891, available in our underpinnings section. We also chose a period hairstyle: braided bun over ringlets.

Suggested fabrics: satins, taffetas in polyester or silk fibers, cottons, linens, velvets. Overlays in lace with optional sequins. For bridal wear we suggest just the standard neckline lace, a row of sequins at the neck, and perhaps a single center front appliqué. This style is done either as a black/white (white/black) or as a jewel tone with pastel accent in either the same hue (e.g.., pink) or different hues (e.g.., lavender and blue). The choice is yours.

This gown is available in full and ball gown full widths.
