He took the name of Warren to preserve the House of Warren. This was seldom allowed-Warrens too powerful. Henry II & Hamelin were children of the count of Anjou. Normans ?off the throne-Plantagenetd on the throne of England . “Wm de Warren m Isabel with consent of King his father.(Stephen) He should not be called Warren in this context. He was Stephen of Blois grandson of the Coinqueror. William of Blois.
