Handsome Aumont Has Starring Role in 'Gay Adventure'

Jean-Pierre Aumont, the blond six-footer and latest ladies heart-throb, can be seen in his newest romantic role in "The Gay Adventure". In it he portrays the part of the young Frenchman who imagines himself coming to the rescue of a beautiful photographer's model (played by Paula Valenska) in distress.

As far back as 1936, Paris critics were forseeing a Hollywood future for Aumont, and his good friend, Charles Boyer, was trying to lure him to America. Today their predictions have come true, with Aumont receiving full recognition as a star in both movies and television.

On September 1, 1939, the promising young star abandoned a brilliant career on the Paris stage to join a French tanks corps where he won the Croix de Guerre. After France fell, he joined the Free French fighting forces.

His films include "Assignment in Brittany," "Scheherazade," "Atlantis," "Wicked City," and "Heartbeat." He has a giant collection of popular and classical records and a library filled with poetry, French novels and the works of Charles Dickens.

In "The Gay Adventure," he stars with Burgess Meredith and the aforementioned Paula Valenska.. Anatole De Grunwald produced.
