It happened innocently enough. My husband, son and I were at the OC Marketplace to purchase flip flops and sunglasses for a vacation we were going on that following week. As we walked around, my husband stopped to look at socks. Me, not really being interested in socks, decided to seek out something a bit more exciting. I turned around, and there it was!! Sitting amongst a bunch of beautiful luxury cars, a beautiful 2000 Mercedes SL500! And at a price so low, it was just calling out to me! I have always wanted one of these. I hopped in and just knew I had to have it! One-quarter jokingly, and three-quarters serious, I called my husband over and told him I found the best booth at the Marketplace, Motor Cars Direct, and found something I absolutely had to have!! I actually got him to sit in the car, and next thing I knew, we were taking it out on a test drive. When we got back, my husband, much to my amazement, actually said we could get it! As he went inside the trailer with the salesman, I stayed outside to admire our new purchase. Next to me was a man who was thinking about buying a Dodge Viper. I started talking to him about why he should buy the Viper, and it looked as though he might. At that point, they told me if I ever wanted a job, they would be more than happy to hire me. I went home thinking it would be fun, but didn’t seriously give it much thought. Me, a luxury car salesperson? Right! But I have a new SL500!! Oh yeah, flip flops and sunglasses too. Anyway, about a month later on a very rainy day, my husband, who was driving the car, called to tell me that when he turned on the windshield wipers they made a horrible scratching noise. It was raining too hard to turn them off, so he had to just listen as with each swoosh, they scratched the windshield further. In the morning we checked, and sure enough, the windshield was all scratched up. I decided to call Motor Cars Direct, and was told to bring the car in and they would take a look at it. Much to my amazement, when I did this, they said they would replace the whole windshield for us at no cost. Wow! Anywhere else would have laughed in my face and told me I bought a used car, had it for a month, and how did they know I did not do something to the windshield wipers. I was in love!!! This company was so incredibly cool. Great customer service, nice people, and beautiful cars just begging to be sold. I was hooked. I decided then and there that I wanted to work for Motor Cars Direct. And the rest, as they say, is history.
