These are part of my living room floor.  What I did is simply take white pine boards, paint in thinned oils various old time signs, and cover all the boards with polyurethane....then just fitted them together for my floor
For my kitchen floor, I simply took white pine boards, wiped them with thinned oil paints, and coverred with polyurethane
And for my hallway, I cut out shapes of various types of wood...cedar, walnut, oak, pine, poplar, maple, etc....and then fit the pieces together like a giant jigsaw puzzle.....
The pics above are of a table I made out of four thick pieces of walnut, and various items that I found at an antique shop.  Well, actually, the one item out of walnut and poplar was I hand turned on the lathe...
These hands are out of black soapstone and are done in remembrance of those who have had cancer, both survivors and those who passed.  This piece was sold as part of a local effort to raise money for cancer research.
