I have lived in Biglerville all my life and I love it here. I actually went to Biglerville Elementary myself. We moved into the "new" elementary school when I was in fifth grade. It has been my dream to come back and teach here ever since.
I graduated from Shippensburg University in May of this year. I have a degree in elementary education with a minor in Spanish. Entonces, hablo algunas Espanol! I studied abroad for a month last summer in Salamanca, Spain. I followed my classes up by backpacking across Europe for four weeks. It was an amazing experience which I am excited to share in my classroom.
I love to take pictures! I have been working part-time as a photographer for the Gettysburg Times. I feel photography can be such a powerful tool, especially among children. I have done extensive research on the usage of photography in the classroom and have been overwhelmed by its positive effects. It is very likely you will see cameras throughout the year!
This is my first year teaching which should make the year very exciting for you! I have thousands of new ideas and innovative teaching methods to share. I also have a HUGE amount of enthusiasm which will no doubt be contagious for my students. There is no escaping!! - It is going to be a fantastic year!
