Leadership is a key aspect of any wilderness outing. The outdoor trips provided at D&E through the Wilderness Adventure Club, Outdoor Recreation Center, and Recreation Management & Tourism program are formulated to build such leadership qualities in students by giving them the opportunity to learn by leading. Rhiannon Burk, former WAC President, has found that outdoor challenges have helped her learn self-sufficiency, leadership and organizational skills. These skills, among many others, will remain with her, and myself, for the remainder of our lives all thanks to D&E's outdoor resources.
