| 07/04/72 - 03/18/07 Laura Sanchez was born on July 4, 1972. She grew up in South Los Angeles and attended the local area schools. She was a single child born to Irene Cruz. Ironically, Irene was murdered while sitting on her front porch Thanksgiving Day in 1998. This sudden tragedy tore Laura apart. With no siblings for support, we embraced her the same way she would embrace us in a time of need. Laura had four children and a step-daughter. She was family-oriented which is why in her home everyday was Thanksgiving Day. Laura was always in the kitchen cooking; she welcomed her guests with open arms and a plate of food. Not a day went by when she did not have a full house. Her passion was children, so the more she had in her home the merrier. Laura was a friend to many. Something about her made her connect quickly with people on a spiritual level. It seemed like you knew her from a past life. She was the kind of person who would do whatever it took to lend a helping hand. Her compassion was her greatest weakness. Your problems became hers as well. Holding your hand, she walked along side with you reassuring you every step of the way - things would get better. We miss her dearly, every day and every moment. There were so many unsaid words, unshared laughs, and unlived moments. Her absence does not go unnoticed, her home is not as warm - a cold silence has wrapped the house, there an indescribable sadness in the air. There are no smiles only memories of what was then and how different it is now. We accept she is in a better place now, in the company of God and her mother. We hope to reunite one day, to continue our journey where we once left off. |
