everyone likes QUOTES, right?  well then... here's some!
my all-time favorite quote...

To laugh often and much,
to win the
respect of intelligent people
and the
affection of children,
to earn the appreciation of
honest critics
   and endure the betrayal of false friends,
to
appreciate beauty,
to find the
best in others,
to
leave the world a bit better,
   whether by a healthy child,
   a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition;
   to know
even one life has breathed easier
because
you have lived.

This is to have succeeded.

~Ralph Waldo Emerson
Stopping By Woods On A Snowy Evening
   Whose woods these are I think I know.
   His house is in the village though;
   He will not see me stopping here
   To watch his woods fill up with snow.
   My little horse must think it queer
   To stop without a farmhouse near
   Between the woods and frozen lake
   The darkest evening of the year.
   He gives his harness bells a shake
   To ask if there is some mistake.
   The only other sound's the sweep
   Of easy wind and downy flake.
   The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
   But I have promises to keep,
   And miles to go before I sleep,
   And miles to go before I sleep.

~good ol' Robert Frost

Nothing Gold Can Stay

Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

~Mr. Frost (again)

I remember analyzing this poem in 7th grade in Mr. Holje's class... it's in "The Outsiders."  Still got it memorized!
"It will be a great day when our schools get all the money they need and the air force has to hold a bake sale to buy a bomber."
I used to be with it,
then they changed what it was.
Now what was it isn't it,
and what is it is weird and scary to me.
It'll happen to you too.
