| My Poems |
| PREFACE Years ago we were in our Literature class and were studying Emily Dickinson. It was then that I started to be interested in poetry. Later, I took a poetry class and I had the opportunity of writing my own poetry. It is not that I'm a poet or anything but it was certainly a rewarding experience. Writing poetry led me to recall those memories that I thought I had forgotten, specially those that are tied to some feeling of solitude or grief. However, I discovered that writing poems is a way to relieve of all those feelings that, same as the ones caused by beautiful moments, belong to me for they also have shaped my life. ACKNOWLEDGES The most appreciated gift of God I have is my own life. It's been filled with many timeless moments from which I've gained the experiences printed in my poems. I want to thank all of you for having been by my side through the years. I want to thank my mother for shaping me. I want to thank Frank Malgesini for being an excellent teacher. I want to thank Fer for his support and for being part of my life. Laura Luevano Seeds of Poetry, Chihuahua, Mex. June 2001 |
