Out for lunch
I think that when I am on my deathbed and am thinking back over the most perfect meals that I have eaten, this will be the one that I recall most vividly. In retrospect, I think that the "sardines" were really anchovies and that the red peppers had been roasted. I am not certain about the steak – it may well have been veal. But it was perfection. Every bite literally melted in my mouth, and the flavors were intense without being overpowering. This is the meal that I think of when I am thinking about the best food I have ever been served at a restaurant.
